Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for diagnosing fetal lung maturity through a dipalmitoylphosphatidylcholine/sphingomyelin ratio (D/S ratio). The method for diagnosing a fetal lung maturity by the use of amniotic fluid of the present invention eliminates an interference of substances with the same mass and in different kinds contained in the mixed material extracted from the amniotic fluid through the step where the substances subject to analysis are absorbed into a cation exchange resin. Also, the D/S ratio is measured by the use of a mass spectrometer and a prompt diagnosis within 30 minutes is enabled so that a more accurate diagnosis of a fetal lung maturity can be conducted to diagnose fetal lung maturity as errors that may be created by the amniotic fluid contamination are reduced.
