PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent generation of hollow particles and increase a yield of silica-containing particles in a silica-containing particle production method.SOLUTION: A silica-containing particle production method includes: a step (A) of producing an emulsion which comprises a dispersion phase containing a silica-containing precursor and a continuous phase and where the number of multiphase emulsion droplets is 20 or less in 1,000 emulsion droplets; a step (B) of forming silica-containing particles by solidifying emulsion droplets containing the silica-containing precursor; a step (C) of agitating a liquid containing the silica-containing particles using an agitating member at a peripheral velocity of 7.5 m/s or more; and a step (D) of recovering the silica-containing particles.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing inorganic spherical bodies each having such a large particle diameter that the average particle diameter becomes 100 μm or more. SOLUTION: In the method for producing inorganic spherical bodies having an average particle diameter of 100-1,000 μm, the inorganic spherical bodies are obtained through a process for forming a W/O-type emulsion by dispersing an aqueous liquid containing a specified inorganic compound into an organic liquid, a process for forming a metal oxide by hydrolysis of a metal alkoxide on the outer shell part of each droplet of the aqueous liquid containing the inorganic compound by adding the metal alkoxide to the W/O-type emulsion, and a process for forming the inorganic spherical bodies by solidifying the aqueous liquid containing the inorganic compound in the W/O-type emulsion after the formation of the metal oxide. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a deodorant agent for a human body, providing good feeling in use and having high deodorant effects. SOLUTION: The deodorant agent for the human body contains fine particle-shaped silica gel including zinc oxide fine particles produced by a production method including a micronized silica hydrogel slurry-preparing step comprising a hydrothermal pulverizing step for forming slurry of the micronized silica hydrogel having an average particle diameter of ≤100 μm by subjecting silica hydrogel in a slurry state having SiO 2 concentration of 5.0-15.0 mass% to hydrothermal treatment under stirring; a mixed slurry-forming step for obtaining mixed slurry of the silica hydrogel fine particles and the zinc oxide fine particles by introducing the zinc oxide fine particles in a primary particle state having an average particle diameter of 0.1-0.5 μm into the micronized silica hydrogel slurry; and a drying step for drying the mixed slurry. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means to easily prepare a chemically modified silica gel excellent in alkali resistance and usable as a column for liquid chromatography for a prolonged time without deteriorating separation performance, by improving the alkali resistance of a chemically modified silica gel. SOLUTION: When silica gel is reacted with a chemical modifier to produce a chemically modified silica gel, the reaction of the silica gel with the chemical modifier is carried out under microwave irradiation, the silica gel preferably has a specific surface area of 1-5,000 m 2 /g, the chemical modifier is a silane compound reacting with a silanol group on the silica gel surface, and the microwave for irradiation is preferably in a range of 300 MHz to 300 GHz in terms of magnetron frequency.
