    Abstract: PURPOSE: To prevent a combustion process within a combustion chamber from proceeding towards completion and reduce carbon particles in combustion gas flowing into a gas turbine limiting at least one of combustion reaction parameters, i.e., rate and duration of the reaction process. CONSTITUTION: A high-pressure air tank 22 of an emergency power unit 20 is connected via an air pressure regulator 36, an air temperature sensor 38 and an airflow control valve 40 to a combustor 26, and a fuel tank 24 is connected via a fuel control valve 46 to the combustor 26. Air coming from high pressure air tank 22 is delivered to pressure regulator 36 which regulates the air pressure to an appropriate regulated pressure level controlled by controller 50. The controller 50 performs control by using an air temperature signal from the air temperature sensor 38 to direct the air flow control valve 40 and the fuel control valve 46 to deliver a precise fuel to air ratio to the combustor 26 at appropriate pressures. Due to these constituent features, the time until completion of combustion can be reduced, if required, and carbon particles in discharged flow can be sharply reduced.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To define a distance of a valve rod extended from a rear shell by providing manufacturing steps of a brake booster. CONSTITUTION: A step of defining a fixed distance between a peripheral surface on a rear shell 28 of the brake booster 10 and an eye 33 of a linkage member attached to a brake pedal 12 is constituted when the movable wall is in a rest position. A wall 42 of the booster is rotated to the shell 28 which acts as a stop for the wall in the rest position. The location of the wall with respect to the variable surface establishes a desired fixed linear dimension between a peripheral surface on the rear shell and an eye on the linkage member.

    Abstract: An apparatus and method are provided for winding an advancing filament or the like being fed by a transfer device. The filament is clamped to a rotating winding wheel and the filament leader is cut for disposal. The apparatus includes a combined clamping and cutting element mounted for rotation with the wheel. The element includes a pivotable arm having a free cutting knife facing the direction of filament travel. When actuated, the arm pivots from an open position away from the wheel to a closed position wherein the arm engages the filament and the wheel so as to retain the advancing filament on the wheel. Following clamping engagement the rotating brush rollers pull the filament leader forcing the filament against the cutting edge as the wheel continues to rotate so as to cut the filament leader. The method includes the steps of; tensioning the filament as it is drawn past the wheel; clamping the filament to the wheel; and pulling the filament against the free cutting edge as the wheel rotates following clamping engagement so as to cut the leader for removal.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To severely deal with a fuel flow rate in terms of an ideal burner pressure function by metering fluid in response to an electric signal, and regulating the pressure difference of both the sides of a control orifice area. CONSTITUTION: An input signal is evaluated by a computer 42, the generated operation signal is evaluated by a fuel schedule circuit 40, and a signal is transmitted to a fuel metering controller 100. The controller 100 pressurizes the fuel from a supply source 38, and supplies the metered flow as the square function of the received signal to a turbine 10. In this case, the metering of the flow rate is regulated so that the pressure difference of both the sides of a control orifice is changed in square proportion of the flow rate by a solenoid with the orifice for varying the flow rate of the fluid directed toward an outlet and the pressure difference as the function of the flow rate.
