Abstract:
For reducing and homogenizing an end-to-end delay of data packet transmissions in a large-scale wireless mesh network, a device, a system and a method are provided for controlling data packet transmission in the wireless network, wherein transmission parameters of an intermediate node are adjusted based on a distance between the intermediate node and a sender node.
Abstract:
The invention addresses the problem that under certain conditions short range radios (such as IEEE 802.15.4 / ZigBee) do not stand a chance of getting access to the medium in the presence of WLAN radios transmitting with order of magnitude higher power. The concept of interference zonesis usedto classify the possible mutual interference circumstances between two radios with different transmission power. By detecting the interference zone a short range radio is in, it can adapt itsinterference mitigation strategy. The invention can be applied for instance for patient monitoring to maintain operation of wireless body sensor networks in the presence of WLAN.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a wireless device for medical data transmission that comprises a wireless interface, a processor, and a medical equipment interface arranged to provide connection to an item of medical equipment. The processor is arranged to communicate with the medical equipment interface and the wireless interface, and is also 5 arranged to perform a protocol adaptation. The protocol adaptation takes place from a protocol of inco ming data received at the medical equipment interface to a protocol of data to be transmitted through the wireless interface, or vice versa. The protocol adaptation comprises individual or combined filtering, gathering, partitioning, prioritizing, or discarding the incoming data. The processor is further arranged to read a configuration file containing an 10 adaptation specification that pertains to the protocol adaptation; and to perform the protocol adaptation in compliance with the adaptation specification. The invention also relates to a method for setting up the wireless device.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a wireless network comprising at least one slave terminal and a master terminal which is connected thereto and controls the network. The master terminal informs the other slave terminals about changes in the network topology. After the master terminal has lost radio contact with all slave terminals, the slave terminal with a predefined criterion takes over the role of master terminal and then sets up the connection to the other slave terminals.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a network having at least one slave terminal and a master terminal that is connected thereto and that is provided for charging at least one slave terminal with requests to search for at least one other terminal to be incorporated in the network. After receiving a request, a non-incorporated terminal transmits a response to the requesting slave terminal and the requesting slave terminal forwards the response to the master terminal.
