    Abstract: A power supply module 100 is connected to a network client device 130. The power supply module is capable of powering said network client device, wherein the power supply module has a data memory 104 containing security information 126. The power supply module transfers the security information 126 from the data memory to the network client device. The security information may comprise a network key and/or a passphrase for generating a network key. The security information may comprise network parameters. The network may be a wireless network and may further be a secure wireless network that is at least partially in a restricted environment. The network may be a wireless gas sensor network. The security information may be used to encrypt and/or decrypt data sent over a wireless network. A commissioning device may write the security information into the data memory. The commissioning device may generate the security information. The security information may comprise a unique identifier for the network client device.

    Abstract: In the technical field of gas sensors, gas concentration may be determined by passing light through a gas and measuring the relative attenuation of a reference wavelength band and a measurement wavelength band of the light. To obtain reliable measurements, it is necessary to wait for the light source to stabilize after it has been turned on due to drift and/or low-frequency noise present during warm-up of the light source. The present invention provides a gas sensor comprising a light source (2) arranged to emit pulses of light, and an adaptable filter (6) arranged to change between one of a measurement state and a reference state to the other at least once during each pulse. Switching at least once each pulse allows drift or low-frequency noise to be filtered out, allowing operation of the gas sensor during the light source warm-up period, thereby making the gas sensor more energy efficient.
