Abstract:
The present invention provides hexagonal zinc oxide structures having various shapes. The zinc oxide may be formed into a crystalline rod, a tree structure, and a hemispherical structure. These zinc oxide structures can be applied to a light-emitting diode. The light-emitting diode has excellent light extraction efficiency due to the zinc oxide structure applied thereto.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a method of fabricating a vertical type light-emitting diode and a method of separating layers from each other. Crystalline rods are provided on a lower layer or a lower substrate. The crystalline rods comprise ZnO. A layer which constitutes a light-emitting diode or a light-emitting diode structure is formed on the crystalline rods, and the lower substrate is separated therefrom. The crystalline rods are dissolved during the separation. The formation of the crystalline rods is achieved by the formation of a seed layer and selective growth based on the seed layer.
Abstract:
A method of fabricating a metamorphic compound semiconductor solar cell is provided. The method includes forming a graded buffer layer on a support substrate, the graded buffer layer having a graded lattice constant from a bottom surface thereof toward a top surface thereof. A sacrificial layer is formed on the graded buffer layer. A solar cell structure is formed on the sacrificial layer. A support structure is formed on the solar cell structure. The sacrificial layer is selectively etched to separate the solar cell structure from the graded buffer layer. The separated solar cell structure is bonded to a host substrate.
Abstract:

The tandem solar cell includes an inorganic solar cell constituted by a compound semiconductor including a p-type compound semiconductor layer and a n-type compound semiconductor layer disposed on a lower electrode, an intermediate electrode disposed on the inorganic solar cell, and an organic solar cell disposed on the intermediate electrode and having an upper electrode on a surface thereof opposite to the intermediate electrode.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to an antitumoric composition for oral administration comprising a chlorin compound, or its pharmaceutically acceptable salt as an active ingredient, wherein the chlorin compound or its pharmaceutically acceptable salt exhibits the antitumoric activity without light irradiation. This invention suggests a novel use and application of the chlorin compound, which is conventionally used in a photodynamic therapy for cancer as photosensitive substances. Thus, according to this invention, the chlorin compound is orally administrated, and may have antitumoric effects without light irradiation. The composition of this invention is orally administrated, well absorbed in human through gastro-intestinal tract, and showed an excellent antitumoric effect. The composition of this invention does not have a cytotoxicity and an immunetoxicity, so that the composition has a higher safety to human.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for preparing chlorophyll-a and chlorin e6. This invention extracts chlorophyll-a by use of undisrupted chlorella cells themselves, thereby preparing chlorin e6 from the chlorophyll-a extract. The high contents of chlorophyll-a may be obtained by the pretreatment procedure of chlorella cells themselves selected in this invention. The present method is performed according to relatively simple procedures, and is suitable in the mass production of chlorin e6.
Abstract:
The present invention provides an optical connection component which comprises a solid state laser component for emitting a modulated beam of light in response to an applied electrical signal. The optical connection component also comprises an optical lens positioned relative to the solid state laser component at a predetermined position in which the optical lens reduces divergence of the emitted beam of light. The optical lens is formed at the predetermined position in a manner such that the optical lens is immobile relative to the solid state laser component. The optical connection component further comprises an optical waveguide having a core for guiding the light. The optical waveguide has first and second end-portions. The first end-portion is positioned for coupling the modulated light from the optical lens into the core. In addition, the optical connection component comprises a receiver for receiving the modulated light from the second end-portion of the optical waveguide and arranged for converting the modulated light into a corresponding electrical signal.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for encoding a multi-view video and a method and apparatus for decoding a multi-view video, and more particularly, to a method and apparatus for encoding a multi-view video and a method and apparatus for decoding a multi- view video that can perform encoding and decoding in consideration of global disparity between pictures captured at two different viewpoints to remove spatial redundancy. An embodiment of the invention provides an encoder for compressing data for pictures captured at different viewpoints using global disparity in a multi-view video. The encoder includes: an input unit that receives pictures captured at two or more viewpoints; a reference picture generating unit that generates a new reference picture on the basis of the global disparity between a target picture and a reference picture; and a motion predicting unit that calculates motion vectors of the target picture on the basis of the reference picture.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a thermal switch, particularly a thermal switch that improves heat transfer efficiency and allows easy control form opening/closing a thermal connection through heat transfer fluid by supplying heat transfer fluid stored or supplied in a fluid storage channel to a tunnel or a switching channel to allow the heat transfer fluid opened to the upper part of the switching channel to be in surface contact with a panel to transfer heat. The present invention provides thermal switch controlling heat transfer between a heat source and a heat sink, which includes: a main panel; a groove-shaped fluid storage channel formed on the downside of the main panel, and containing or supplied with heat transfer fluid; a tunnel formed on the upside of the main panel, connected with the fluid storage channel, and supplied with the heat transfer fluid from the fluid storage channel; and an air discharge channel formed on the upside of the main panel and connected with the tunnel to form an air passage. Further, the thermal switch controls heat transfer between the heat source and heat sink by adjusting a level of the heat transfer fluid in the tunnel.
