PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a panel assembly of a translucent and/or transparent polymer base to which the color is incorporated by applied colored film layers.SOLUTION: Implementations relate to a translucent and/or transparent polymer-based panel system that incorporates multi-colored insert layers that enable manipulation of color, transparency or light transmission of the finished panel system. Implementations also relate to the construction of such panels to avoid the capture and retention of air within the panels through the use of textured surfaces at the lamination interfaces. In addition, implementations provide a method of quantifying the optical response achieved in a given panel system and describes types of construction that enable the multiplicity of color and optic manipulation. Furthermore, there is provided methods for applying texture in an efficient, uniform manner.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate danger to an infant which is inherent in an endless type pull cord. SOLUTION: A control unit for controlling a lift mechanism in a covering for an architectural opening includes a drive assembly and a brake assembly 42. The drive assembly includes a spool about which the pull cord 32 can be wrapped or unwrapped and a spring for energizing the spool in a direction to wrap the pull cord thereabout. A drive gear 60 is operatively associated with the spool so that, upon pulling the pull cord and unwrapping the pull cord from the spool, the drive gear is shifted axially into engagement with a driven gear 64 in the brake assembly. The driven gear under such circumstances rotates a driven shaft, which in turn rotates a lift shaft in the covering to raise the covering from an extended position to a retracted position. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a venetian blind enabling a function for allowing incoming light rays to pass through the specific portions of one blind and to be blocked off by the other portions thereof by making slats tilt variably at mutually different angles. SOLUTION: The venetian blind is composed of the plural horizontally oriented slats 13, auxiliary tilt cords 14 and 15, and an engaging collar 25. The cords 14 and 15 are provided with two ladders 5 and 7 for supporting the individual slats 13 in a vertical direction and a control mechanism for vertically moving the ladders 5 and 7 in such a manner as to be able to rotate the individual slats 13 on their longitudinal axes, and engaged with vertically movable members 17 and 19 extending in the vertical direction of the ladders 5 and 7. In the engaging collar 25 capable of being engaged with a bead 23, plural disposed guiding groups 21 are installed along the ladders 5 and 7, and the cords 14 and 15 are installed between the plural beads 23 disposed at regular intervals and the guiding groups 21. The operations of the cords 14 and 15 permit the slats 13 to tilt variably at the mutually different angles.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a combination body of a novel end cap and an installing support. SOLUTION: A combination body of an end cap and an installing support has an end cap 11 engageable with a support bracket 3 in an engageable releasable state, one of the end cap 11 and the support bracket 3 has a groove hole 20 opening in the lateral direction for housing a projection 21 extending in the other shaft direction of the end cap 11 and the support bracket 3 and a closing means for preventing the projection from escaping from the groove hole 20 opening in the lateral direction, the closing means has a rotatable locking collar 19 surrounding the groove hole 20 opening in the lateral direction and having a circumferential directional inlet opening, and the circumferential directional inlet opening can be adjusted to the groove hole 20 opening in the lateral direction by rotating the locking collar to an opening position from a closing position on the groove hole 20 opening in the lateral direction to thereby selectively provide the approach to the groove hole 20 opening in the lateral direction through the circumferential directional inlet opening.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a winding structure which delays the winding or unwinding rotation of a shielding body for a building like a blind. SOLUTION: This winding structure is provided with a winding element 12 whose rotary force is urged by a tortional spring and a fluid brake 40 to wind or unwind a shielding body or a lift cord or a tape thereof by the rotation of the winding element rotating around a first rotary axis. In this case, a fluid brake is formed of a liquid-tight partitioned chamber 42 housing a liquid and an impeller 46 and the partition chamber or the impeller can be relatively rotated around a second axial line which can be made equal to the first axial line or coaxial. The partitioned chamber or the impeller is connected to the winding element and when actuating it, the liquid in the partition chamber rotates together with the partition chamber or the impeller around the second axial line. The rotation of the winding element can be delayed in accordance with the relative rotation of the partition chamber against the impeller or the liquid therein.
