A panel assembly can include a first panel having a peripheral side located between an upper and a lower surface of the first panel and a first opening. The panel assembly can also include a second panel having a second opening. An elongated insert can be coupled to the first panel, the elongated insert having a coupling side, where the first opening of the first panel can be sized and shaped to coupleably receive the elongated insert such that the coupling side is positioned proximal to the peripheral side. The panel assembly can also include a fastening insert, where the second opening of the second panel can be sized and shaped to receive the fastening insert. A fastener can be received by the fastening insert and the elongated insert, the fastener coupling the first panel to the second panel via the fastening insert and the elongated insert. Related methods for assembling the panel assembly are also provided.

A latch apparatus coupled to an aircraft component can comprise a latch assembly moveable between unlatched and latched configurations, an actuation system coupled to the latch assembly and operable to move the latch assembly from the latched configuration to the unlatched configuration, the actuation system including an electromagnet assembly magnetically coupled to the latch assembly, and a control system operably coupled to the electromagnet assembly. The control system can be configured to magnetically uncouple the electromagnet assembly from the latch assembly to cause the latch assembly to move from the latched configuration to the unlatched configuration. An aircraft door latch apparatus having a latched configuration and an unlatched configuration can include a door structure of an aircraft door assembly, a handle coupled to the door structure and pivotably moveable with respect to the door structure between a latched position and an unlatched position, the handle including at least a first wall and a handle cavity, and a latch apparatus coupled to the handle. The latch apparatus may be operable to move the handle between the latched position and the unlatched position, the latch apparatus received in the handle cavity and arranged to be concealed by the handle when the aircraft door latch apparatus is in the latched configuration and the unlatched configuration. A stowage bin cover assembly coupleable to a stowage bin is provided. The stowage bin cover assembly includes a stowage bin cover coupleable to the stowage bin, the stowage bin cover including a first groove; and an anti-slip strip coupleably received in the first groove. The anti-slip strip can be positioned and oriented to project above an uppermost outer surface of the first groove such that the anti-slip strip will frictionally engage a payload received in the stowage bin, the frictional engagement resisting movement of the payload. Related methods are also provided.
