    Abstract: A carafe filter cartridge for reverse flow applications where the filter housing and filter media top end cap directs unfiltered fluid into the filter media annular cavity, through the filter media sidewalls. And the filter media bottom end cap prohibits egress, filter fluid from exiting through the filter media end or the annular cavity. Filtered fluid is instead directed out through apertures in the filter housing sidewall. The optimum ratio of annular cavity and/or top end cap orifice area to the respective perimeter is determined to remove the risk of detrimental fluid flow due to air bubble generation.

    Abstract: A single sheet water filter media for gravity filtration applications that improves flow performance over the product life while maintaining sufficient metal reduction, wherein at least two distinct density gradients of the single sheet form a physical barrier for capturing colloidal and insoluble contaminants, retaining the colloidal and insoluble contaminants until the contaminants become soluble in the fluid, and being removed by the single sheet' filter media. The single sheet filter overcomes the difficulties of dual- and multi- layer filters attributable to slower flow rate realized well before the rated lifetime of the product. The two distinct density gradients of the single sheet filter media are created by exerting a force on a liquid slurry, such force resulting in the separation of higher powder loading and fibers that compose the top and bottom density gradients, respectfully.

El estabilizador usa superficies curvadas opuestas que corresponden con, y sigue la curvatura del diámetro de cada alojamiento cilíndrico de cartucho. En modalidades alternativas, el miembro de bloqueo es una lengüeta elástica que forma un ajuste por fricción con una estructura complementaria en la tapa de extremo inferior del alojamiento de filtro, o un enclavamiento macho/hembra de ajuste a presión complementario a un enclavamiento o ajuste a presión hembra/macho sobre la tapa inferior del alojamiento de filtro.
