Abstract: The present invention relates to compounds with high chemical stability and methods for inhibiting the pathological activity of extracellular histones in a subject. In particular, the invention relates to compounds with high chemical stability, uses thereof and methods for inhibiting or ameliorating extracellular histone mediated ailments (such as, for example, sepsis, systemic immune response syndrome (SIRS) and ischemia reperfusion injury (IRO). More particularly, the invention relates to methods and uses of a polyanionic sulfated cellobioside modified with a small uncharged glycosidically linked substituent at its reducing terminus, wherein the presence of the substituent results in a molecule with high chemical stability without affecting the ability of the molecule to be effective in the therapy of extracellular histone mediated ailments. For example, the present invention relates to methods and uses of β-O-methyl cellobioside sulfate (mCBS) or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof (e.g., mCBS·Na), in the therapy of a range of extracellular histone mediated ailments in subjects.

Abstract: The invention provides a regulation of public safety from illegal three dimensional printer designs. A design that is inputted into our program will go through multiple steps of analysis, the initial step will be very brief and quickly done, while the following steps become much complex, and intricate. Each analysis step is a comparison between the inputted design and flagged designs listed in a database. If the design fails to comply with all the analysis, then it will be denied from being printed. However if the design complies with even one of the analysis then it will be printed right away, without further analysis. The categories of the flagged designs will be administered by the government officials, and any new additions or possible additions will be reported to the officials as well. The program will be updated periodically to match the updates done to the database.

Abstract: A retractor with multiple blade for use in surgery. The retractor may comprise first and second elongated portions which are pivotally connected to each other. A first blade may be connected to the first eleongated portion and a second blade may be connected to the second elongated portion. The retractor may also comprise a sliding bar having a third blade. The sliding bar may be associated with the first and second elongated portions such that movement of the elongated portions relative to each other may result in movement of the sliding bar and, consequently, movement of the third blade relative to the first and second blades. In one embodiment, the retractor may comprise a tension limiting device so that the third blade amy remain relatively staionary as the first and second blades are moved. The retractor may also comprise a fourth blade operatively connected to the first ands second elongated portions. The fourth blade may moved independently of the other blades or may move with the other blades. Also disclosed is a method of retracting tissue.
