PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a buckling restraint brace which can be easily connected to a structure frame and is relatively flatly formed, a core material unit used therefor, and a manufacturing method thereof.SOLUTION: There is provided a core material unit for buckling restraint brace which is joined with two joint plates installed opposite each other inside the structure frame at both projection ends thereof. The core material unit for buckling restraint brace is composed of a pair of long side core materials in parallel in which slits each formed in each of both ends of each side core material in a right-left parallel position relation with a slit in an end on the same side of the other side core material so that both slits can receive and join the corresponding joint plates.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a buckling restrained brace, in which the conditions of its core material can be observed without dismantling it, and a building structure that uses the buckling restrained brace.SOLUTION: The buckling restrained brace in this invention comprises: a core material (1); at least a pair of stiffeners (21) arranged to sandwich the core material on two opposing faces of the core material without contacting with each other of the pair, allowing the both side-faces of the core material, which are not in contact with the stiffeners, to be seen from the outside; and fixing materials (3) that fix the pair of stiffeners. The fixing materials comprise: two protrusion parts (31) protruding from each of the pair of stiffeners in the direction which the stiffener's side-face faces to, and extending in parallel with the designated direction; and a plurality of connection parts (32) connecting the two protrusion parts with each other and being arranged to hide the side faces of the core material at certain intervals. With this arrangement, the side-faces of the core material can be seen from the outside.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a base isolating device capable of stably supporting equipment in a base isolating manner. SOLUTION: This base isolating device arranged between a foundation structure and the equipment to support the equipment in the base isolating manner, is provided with a lower frame having both upper and lower faces, with a plurality of lower areas divided on the upper face and horizontally arranged; an upper frame having both upper and lower faces, out of which the lower face faces the upper face of the lower frame with a space and is divided in a plurality of upper areas corresponding to the plurality of lower areas; and a plurality of rolling devices supporting the upper frame horizontally above the lower frame being held one by one between an upper operating surface and a lower operating surface of each of at least three area pairs selected out of area pairs which are a plurality of upper and lower pairs located between the lower face of the upper frame and the upper face of the lower frame and respectively having the upper operating surfaces and lower operating surfaces. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electro-slag welding method improving joining strength at an electro-slag welded part and excellent in fracture characteristics.SOLUTION: A first mold 2 is arranged to straddle respective bottom parts of a first structure 11 and a second structure 12 in a sealing manner. Second molds 3, 3 are arranged to hold outside surfaces 122, 122 and contact a first welding surface 111, which forms a melting space 4 forming a horn shape viewed from the top. When feeding a welding wire 51 as well as putting flux into the melting space 4, the energized welding wire 51 generates electric arc. The flux is melt by the electric arc to make molten slug 61. The welding wire 51, the first structure 11 and the second structure 12 are melt by the molten slug 61 to make molten metal 62. Cooling the molten metal 62 after filling the space 4 with the molten metal 62 forms welding metal 63 which joins the first structure 11 and the second structure 12.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate connection of a buckling restraining brace with a frame of a structure. SOLUTION: An axial member 1 is provided with two connection parts 12 and an intermediate part 11. The two connection parts 12 are each connected to two connection plates 210 of a frame 200 of a structure, and the intermediate part 11 is connected between the connection parts 12. Each of the connection parts is provided with a supply plate part 121 and a contact plate part 122. The supply plate part 121 is in the same plane as the long plate body 111 of the intermediate part, and the contact plate part 122 is extended from the supply plate part in the vertical direction. The outer end of the supply plate part of each of the connection parts has a groove. The groove is formed so that it can pass along the outer end of the axial member in the laterally axial direction and extended the axial direction.
