Abstract:
A conveyor system for advancing tissue logs has a first log advancement member that conveys a lead tissue log toward a discharge end of a lane via a first drive, and a second log advancement member that conveys a successive tissue log after the lead tissue log toward the discharge end of the lane via a second drive. A controller is coupled to the first and second drives. The controller is adapted and configured to control: the first drive to move the first log advancement member between a start and finish position, the second drive to move the second log advancement member between the start and finish position, and the first drive independently of the second drive. A plurality of like lanes may be provided and the controller may also control the first and second drives of one lane independently of the first and second drives of another lane.
Abstract:
A plurality of curved plates which are adapted to be mounted on an embossing roll are identically engraved with an embossing pattern that matches the plate dimensions, permitting them to be interchanged or replaced without disrupting pattern discontinuity. In one embodiment, the pattern is created to match a given plate by laying out a skew grid matching plate corners, and using grid parallelograms as pattern unit cells. In another embodiment, an existing doubly periodic pattern is minimally distorted to match the plate geometry.
Abstract:
A rewinder includes a lockout cam for controlling the actuation of transfer pins and transfer pads on the bedroll of a rewinder. The transfer pins and transfer pads are mounted on a rotatable pin shaft and a rotatable pad shaft, respectively. A cam follower assembly on the pin shaft is engageable with a pin cam for controlling movement of the transfer pins. A cam follower assembly on the pad shaft is engageable with a pad cam for controlling movement of the transfer pads. The lockout cam is rotatably mounted relative to the bedroll. A first portion of the lockout cam is engageable with the cam follower assemblies for preventing the pin and pad cam follower assemblies from engaging the pin cam and the pad cam, respectively. A second portion of the lockout cam permits the pin and pad cam follower assemblies to engage the pin cam and the pad cam, respectively. During most of the winding cycle, the lockout cam is rotated at the same speed as the bedroll so that the first portion of the lockout cam engages the cam follower assemblies and prevents the cam follower assemblies from engaging the pin and pad cams. Near the end of the winding cycle, the lockout cam is rotated at a different speed than the bedroll so that the second portion of the lockout cam is aligned with the cam follower assemblies and the pin and pad cam follower assemblies engage the pin and pad cams, respectively.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for a cutting blade of a cutting machine for a log of woven cloth materials, capable of being manufactured with high reliability and practicality and at low cost, and provide a method for controlling the cutting blade of the cutting machine for the log of the woven materials capable of continuously detecting the state of the cutting blade so as to stop the machine if the state of the cutting blade cannot be operated. SOLUTION: The control device of the cutting blade of the cutting machine for the leg of the woven cloth materials, if the deformed amount of the cutting blade reach to predetermined deformed amounts, stops the operation of the cutting blade. When the deformed amount of the cutting blade are less than other predetermined deformed amount, the control device restarts the operation of the cutting blade. The control device includes a measuring apparatus for measuring at least part of the deformed amounts of the cutting blade; at least one of comparator for comparing the measured deformed amount with at least one of the predetermined deformed amount set by an operator; and an actuator for sending a control signal for controlling start and/or stop of a motor of the machine to the motor according to the signal received from the comparator.
