Abstract: The step-in ski binding for connecting the front of the shoe so that the heel can be lifted off during use has the front fixed by hooking the front sole (12) into place in the area between the ball of the foot and the front end of the sole in the toe-joint area (14), on one hand, and by holding down the front end (13) of the sole, on the other. Elastic means stabilize the sole or shoe during use of the binding. A tension cable can be guided round the shoe heel to ensure the shoe remains hooked in position through pretension forwards.
