    Abstract: A lighting device for a visual display in a rearview device of a vehicle includes at least one light element, at least one reflecting element which is included on or in a support element of the lighting device and is adapted to reflect incident light from the light element, at least one absorption element which is included on or in the support element of the lighting device and is adapted to absorb incident light from the light element, and at least one light guide element which is included on or in the support element of the lighting device and is adapted to collect and guide incident light from the light element, where the support element, the reflecting element, the absorption element or the light guide element are at least partially curved away from the light element.

    Abstract: An imaging system for a vehicle for obtaining an anti-flickering super-resolution image includes an image sensor adapted to obtain a sequence of images, and an image processor adapted to receive the sequence of images, compare image information of a most recent image of the sequence of images to a reference image to detect at least one image region of mismatch in the most recent image, remove the detected image region from image information of the most recent image to obtain adjusted image information, and add the adjusted image information of the most recent image to a super-resolution image.

    Abstract: An external rear view device for a motor vehicle includes a fixed base assembly provided for arrangement on the motor vehicle and a moveable head assembly attached to the base assembly via an articulation assembly. The rear view device may include a camera located within the base assembly or within the head assembly. The rear view device may include a cassette bezel that tilts and closes the rear view device. The rear view device may also include a fixed frame which supports downward load that is applied to the mirror and the articulation assembly of the mirror, and the articulation assembly may be configured to adjust the rear view device between an outboard drive condition, a standard drive condition, a park condition, and positions therebetween.

    Abstract: The invention relates to an actuator device comprising at least one retaining means on which rearview means can be secured or is secured and which are mounted in a movable manner relative to a housing component of a rearview device and comprising at least one adjusting unit with at least one second adjusting means for moving the retaining means relative to the housing component. The first adjusting means and the second adjusting means each comprise at least one shape-memory element, and the first adjusting unit and the second adjusting unit are arranged between the housing component and the retaining means so as to be mechanically connected in series. The first adjusting unit has a first maximum travel path, and the second adjusting unit has a second maximum travel path which is different from the first maximum travel path. The invention also relates to a rearview device with an actuator device according to the invention.

    Abstract: A single arm telescoping mirror apparatus comprising a mirror base and mirror head. In one embodiment, a mirror base having a wear plate secured to a single support arm which frictionally engages a single telescoping tube of the mirror head. Furthermore, a mirror base having a roller assembly which frictionally engage the inner wall of a single telescoping tube of the mirror head. Frictional forces created minimize the telescopic or vibrational movement of the mirror head during use of a vehicle. In another aspect, a wear plate is secured to a single telescoping tube while, roller assemblies are attached to a support arm which frictionally engage ridges of the telescoping tube.

    Abstract: A sliding clutch for an adjustment device of a rearview device of a motor vehicle comprises two plastic parts. A first part is formed as an external gear wheel having a first multiplicity of first coupling elements and a second part is formed as an internal shaft having a second multiplicity of second coupling elements. The two plastic parts rotate with one another up to a predefined maximum torque namely because a positive fit exists between the first and second coupling elements up to the predefined maximum torque. The invention furthermore relates to a side-view mirror for a motor vehicle having an adjustment device which comprises a sliding clutch according to the invention.
