Abstract:
Methods and compositions are provided for the therapeutic use of Wnt proteins, where the Wnt protein is inserted in the non-aqueous phase of a lipid structure. In some embodiments the Wnt protein is presented in its active conformation on an outer liposome membrane or micelle. Pharmaceutical compositions of the present invention can be administered to an animal for therapeutic purposes. In some embodiments of the invention, the compositions are administered locally, e.g. by injection at the site of an injury. For certain conditions it is desirable to provide Wnt activity for short periods of time, and an effective dose will be administered over a defined, short period of time.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide PKC V5 isozyme-specific peptides. SOLUTION: The sequences and compositions comprising the sequences are useful for treating diseases states associated with the PKC isozyme from which they are respectively derived. Methods of treatment, pharmaceutical formulations and methods of identifying compounds that mimic the activity of the peptides are also described. The peptide, in a preferable embodiment of the invention, links with poly-Arg, Tat, or carrier peptides selected from the homeodomain of Drosophila Antennapedia by a Cys-Cys bonding. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a non-invasive method for detecting, positioning and tracing a pathogen in living bodies such as mammalians, and other materials. SOLUTION: The non-invasive method is to detect expression of a heterogous gene in a living non-human mammalian object. The method includes a process for providing the non-human mammalian object having cells containing an introduced gene, wherein (i) the introduced gene contains a heterogous gene encoding bioluminescent proteins or fluorescent proteins and (ii) the object contains opaque tissues, and a process for detecting the expression of the heterogous gene by measuring photon irradiation passing through the opaque tissues by using a photodetector, wherein the object is maintained under a condition permitting the expression of the heterogous gene by the cells. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of duplicating a micro pattern from a master into a substrate. SOLUTION: The duplicate of a topographical structure on a master is formed and transferred when needed on a receiving substrate by using one of a variety of printing processes or imprinting processes followed by dissolution thereof. An additional process step including forming of a nano structure, a micro device or a portion thereof is carried out using the duplicate before the transfer. The structure formed in the duplicate is also transferred on the substrate when the duplicate is transferred, and remains in the substrate when the duplicate is dissolved. This method is applied as the complemental process or the replaced process of various lithographic processes in the manufacture of an integrated circuit or other micro devices.
