PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive unit of a liquid crystal display device which is good in area efficiency and also capable of reducing electric power consumption. SOLUTION: The drive unit of liquid crystal display device is provided with: a reference voltage generator 110 for generating voltage value for determining coarse range among gradation voltages; a first DA converter 110 for taking out a value showing a voltage range by the upper bits of data codes; a second DA converter 130 for taking out a value showing a voltage range by the lower bits of data codes; a bidirectional analog buffer 120 connected between the first and second DA converters; a demultiplexer 140 for supplying the output of the second DA converter 130 to a line with a selected source bus; and a switch SW1 arranged between the first DA converter 110 and the bidirectional analog buffer 120, if an interactive analog buffer 120 is the forward direction, switches the data from the first DA converter 110 to the bidirectional analog buffer 120, and if the direction is reverse, switches the source voltage obtained by the second DA converter 130 to the demultiplexer 140. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a substrate of a liquid crystal display device which actualizes uniformity of rubbing processing for making uniform the alignment state of liquid crystal molecules directly affecting uniformity of the display state of the display device, and to provide a method of manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: A boundary part between a transparent common electrode 20 and a transparent insulating substrate 30 is formed of a conductor and an insulator and when an alignment layer 10 is formed inside the transparent common electrode 20, flock of a rubbing roller is disordered. The alignment layer 10 is formed projecting onto a transparent insulating substrate 30 to cover the whole of the transparent common electrode 20 formed on the transparent insulating substrate 30 and its peripheral edge portion 20e, so that the rubbing roller has a substrate surface configured so that the flock is hardly disordered. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display system in which a first polysilicon layer and a second polysilicon layer having different crystal properties are formed in a first region and a second region, and to provide its production process. SOLUTION: An image display system includes a substrate layer having a first region and a second region, a thin-film transistor for switching containing a first polysilicon layer formed in the first region of the substrate layer, a thin-film transistor for driving containing a second polysilicon layer formed in the second region of the substrate layer, a heat sink layer, and a separation layer which is present between the above layers. The first polysilicon layer and the second polysilicon layer having different crystal properties has been converted from an amorphous silicon layer of the first region and an amorphous silicon layer of the second region by a single crystallization process.
