Abstract: PURPOSE: A tub and a washing machine having the same are provided to reduce the number of water leakage spots of a tub and to remove the process for welding an air chamber when manufacturing the tub. CONSTITUTION: A tub(11) includes a water chamber(50) for storing washing water and an air chamber(51) which is arranged on a lower side of the water chamber to sense the level of washing water stored in the water chamber. A partition(52) divides the water chamber and the air chamber and has an opening(53) for letting the washing water of the water chamber flow into the air chamber. A drain(60) is formed at the bottom of the air chamber so that the washing water is discharged outside through the opening and the air chamber.

Abstract: A front loading washing machine is provided to prevent soot from being generated in a rotary tub by fixing a lace cover on a cover through a caulking protrusions and a caulking hole. A front loading washing machine comprises a rotary tub body, a pair of covers(42,43), a lace(62), and a lace cover(63). The cylindrical rotary body is opened to front and rear direction. The covers cover a front surface and a rear surface of the rotary body. The lace is concaved with a ring-shaped on one of covers. The lace cover is fixed to the cover through a caulking and covers the lace. The cover has a plurality of caulking protrusions(42a,43a), and a caulking hole(63a). The plural caulking protrusions are projected to the lace cover, and separated at predetermined distance each other to circumferential direction. The caulking hole wherein the caulking protrusions are drilled, is formed on the lace cover. The cover is fixed on the lace cover through the caulking protrusions and the caulking hole.

Abstract: A drum washing machine is provided to stably couple a flange shaft to a drum by forming a fixing protrusion and a receiving groove on the flange shaft and the drum respectively. A drum washing machine includes a drum, a lifter(12a), a shaft system(50), a motor, a flange shaft, a drum rotary shaft(57), a fixing protrusion(55), and a receiving groove(16). The drum consists of a drum body(13), a front drum(14), and a back drum(15). The front drum is formed for receiving laundry inside of the drum body. The back drum is installed on a rear part of the drum body. The lifter is mounted on an inner circumference of the drum body and moves the laundry up and down with water during a rotation of the drum body. The shaft system and the motor are mounted on the back drum to rotate the drum body. The flange shaft is coupled to the drum rotary shaft, has a plurality of wings(53), and is mounted inside an edge of the back drum. The wings are elongated outward from a center of the flange shaft. The fixing protrusion is formed on an end of the wings and is coupled to the receiving groove. The receiving groove is formed on an edge of the back drum.
