Abstract: A display apparatus and a UI providing method thereof are provided. The UI providing method of the display device according to the present invention comprises: displaying at least one item on one area of a display screen; if one item is selected among the items, displaying a first sub-screen corresponding to the selected item on other area of the display screen; displaying at least one first lower level item regarding the selected item; if one first lower level item is selected among the first lower level items, overlapping a second sub-screen corresponding to the selected first lower level item with a portion of the first sub-screen, and displaying the overlapped screen. Thus, a user may easily check a hierarchical structure of the items currently displayed via the sub-screen.
