Abstract: PURPOSE: An ink jet print head and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to improve the performance of the print head by arranging the ink passage in the surface of the substrate in parallel and restricting discharge failure from counter flow of ink, and to increase driving frequency by radiating residual heat efficiently. CONSTITUTION: An ink jet print head is composed of a substrate(100) having an ink chamber(106) filled with ink, a manifold(102) supplying ink to the ink chamber and an ink passage connecting the ink chamber to the manifold; a nozzle plate(120) having plural protection layers stacked on the substrate and composed of insulating material, a heat radiating layer(128) stacked on the protection layer and made of heat conductive metal and a nozzle(104) connected to the ink chamber; a heater(108) formed between the protection layers of the nozzle plate and placed in the upper part of the ink chamber to heat ink of the ink chamber; and a conductor applying current to the heater.

Abstract: PURPOSE: An ink jet print head and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to prevent a nozzle plate from being eroded by simultaneously depositing a protective layer on inner and outer portions of a print head through an atomic layer deposition method. CONSTITUTION: An ink jet print head includes a substrate. An ink chamber(206) is formed in the substrate in order to receive ink therein. A manifold(210) is formed at a rear surface of the substrate in order to feed ink into the ink chamber(206). The manifold(210) is formed below the ink chamber(206) and connected to an ink reservoir. A restrictor(208) is formed between the ink chamber(206) and the manifold(210). A nozzle plate(220) is formed at an upper portion of the substrate. The nozzle plate(220) forms an upper wall of the ink chamber(206). The nozzle plate(220) consists of a plurality of material layers.

CONSTITUTION: A monolithic ink jet print head includes a substrate(110) formed with an ink chamber(132) filled with ink, a manifold(136) for guiding ink into the ink chamber(132), and an ink channel(134) for connecting the ink chamber(132) to the manifold(136). The manifold(136) is positioned at a lower portion of the substrate(110) such that the manifold(136) is located below the ink chamber(132). The ink channel(134) vertically extends by passing through the substrate(110). A nozzle plate(120) is provided at an upper portion of the substrate(110).
