Abstract: PURPOSE: An interface providing apparatus including a touch screen and method thereof are provided to enable blind people to easily use a communication apparatus by providing an interface for promoting the accessibility of the blind people. CONSTITUTION: A touch screen unit(1520) displays an address book including telephone numbers corresponding to names on a screen. When a touch event is generated, the touch screen unit focuses an area where the touch event is generated. A text-braille conversion unit(1550) converts braille data into a telephone number and a name within a focus area. An interface unit(1560) transmits the braille data to a braille display unit through the interface. A TTS(text to speech) unit(1540) outputs voice data through a speaker by converting the name and the telephone number into the voice data.
