Abstract: PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for coding a multi-view point depth image and an apparatus and method for decoding an multi-view point depth image are provided to determine an estimation structure by considering correlation between the points of multi-view depth images. CONSTITUTION: A correlation producing unit(210) produces an SIMD(Similarity of Multi-View Depth) about depth images obtained at different view points. An estimation structure determining unit(230) determines an encoding estimation structure of depth images by using the produced view point correlation. An encoding unit(240) encodes the depth images according to the determined encoding estimation structure.
