Abstract: A direct mode encoding/decoding method capable of selecting an optimum mode of direct modes in consideration of the correlation characteristic of the image are provided to perform more efficient mode code by reducing bit quantity by inducing motion vector. If one nxM block is inputted(S801), a backward reference time axis direct mode is predicted and cost about the predicted mode is obtained(S802). The forward reference time direct mode is predicted and the cost about the predicted mode is obtained(S803). A space axis direct mode is predicted and cost about the predicted mode is obtained(S804). The determined encoding mode is transmitted to the decoder(S805).

Abstract: A bluetooth connection method of a terminal capable of connecting the bluetooth communications with the terminal which a user wants to connect without a searching procedure are provided to reduce current and time for searching a terminal which a user wants to connect. When a request for connecting Bluetooth, a bluetoodh device address is converted and outputted in an audio signal. The audio signal is DTMF(Dual Tone Multi Frequency) signal. In case a first terminal and a second terminal are initial bluetooth communication, a pairing process is included. When receiving Bluetooth connection request signal from the second terminal, the second terminal performs bluetooth communications(S413).

Abstract: A car environment setup method in a portable terminal and a device are provided to enable the terminal to store a user's vehicle driving environment information and to transmit the stored information to a vehicle, so that usage environment of each device installed in the vehicle can be set, thus the user can simply set car environment suited to the user. A storage(212) stores vehicle environment information. If an event for transmitting the vehicle environment information is generated, a controller(200) reads the vehicle environment information from the storage(212). A wireless transceiver(206) transmits the read vehicle environment information to a corresponding vehicle. A display(208) displays a list of the stored vehicle environment information.
