Abstract:
A method and a system for managing a security key of user created private contents are provided to manage a security key of user created private content by generating and managing an encryption key using an encryption scheme based on password information. A method and a system for managing a security key of user created private contents includes the steps of: generating random number information(510); generating first media key block information using encryption key information of a reproducing device for reproducing the user crated private contents and the random number(520); generating second media key block information based on the random number information and the password information(530); and recording the first media key block information and the second media key block information on a media key block of a record media for recording the user created private contents(540). The encryption key information is unique information which is different from the encryption key information of other reproducing devices.
Abstract:
A key update method and a key update device using the same are provided to perform a member key update process by using only update data in on-line states of devices. An encrypted data storage process is performed to store encrypted data including an updated node key in a database(910) of an update server in response to a node key update request for a group. A member(920) generates member update data by selecting data necessary for producing a key prior to an on-line state from the encrypted data including the updated node key. A device corresponding to the member of the on-line state performs a key update process for the member by using the member update data.
Abstract:
A node identifier generation method in a tree structure is provided to enable each communication device to first analyze padding information when analyzing node identifiers included in destination addresses of received packets, thereby easily deciding on locations of nodes within a tree structure, consequently communication of the communication devices can be very efficiently processed. A location information storage(512) stores location information on a path reaching up to a target node from a root node of a tree. A padding information storage(514) stores padding information which includes depth information and a padding code of the target node. The location information is generated by sequentially allocating branch identifiers assigned in every branch up to the target node from the root node. The padding information is generated by inserting the padding code selected from values except a group identifier of the target node, as much as the depth information. A receiver(520) that consist of an index receiver(522) and a data receiver(524) receives a packet, which includes index information and data, from transmitters of other nodes that belong to a tree structure. A controller(530) compares a destination address included in the index information with the information stored at a node identifier storage(510).

Abstract:
A method and a system for encrypting an RF-ID(Radio-Frequency-Identification) tag using a broadcast encryption type are provided to improve convenience of a user by inhibiting an arbitrary attacker from performing an access-lock for the RF-ID tag. In a system(100) for encrypting an RF-ID tag(120) using a broadcast encryption type, an ID(identification) of the RF-ID tag(120) is encrypted. An index, a header, and the encrypted ID are generated and stored in an inner storage according to information from readers(131-137). The readers(131-137) are allowed to read the RF-ID tag(120). The encrypted ID is stored in the RF-ID tag(120) to distribute. When the encrypted ID is received from the arbitrary reader(131-137), the index and the header corresponding to the received encrypted ID are transmitted to the corresponding reader(131-137).
Abstract:
A method for assigning a content playback right to an offline video device through a recording medium is provided to enable the offline video device to play the contents stored in the recording medium and requesting the playback right for playback by assigning the playback right to the offline video device through the recording medium. An encoded key is recorded to the recording medium. The contents encoded by the key are recorded to the recording medium. Information for the playback right to play the contents recorded in the recording medium is recorded to the recording medium(S360). The playback right includes the information for the video device receiving the playback right. The video device determines whether the playback right is permitted or not by referring to the permitted video device information included in the playback right recorded in the recording medium. If the video device corresponds to the permitted video device, the video device decodes and plays the encoded contents recorded in the recording medium.
Abstract:
A method and a system of managing a key of a home device in a broadcast encryption system is provided to reduce a transmission overhead of a header of a service provider when the home device belonging to the home server is incorporated into or eliminated from a service. A method for managing a key of a service provider(290) is applied in a system including the service provider, a home server(260), and a home device(230). A hierarchical structure of a group set comprising a plurality of nodes corresponding to a home server and a plurality of nodes corresponding to a home device is formed(S200). A key set to be allotted to the node set is generated(S205). The node group corresponds to the key set to generate key-node corresponding information according to a request of the home server.
Abstract:
A security device and a head end in a conditional access system and a method for controlling illegal use in the same are provided to efficiently utilize communication resources at a head side by minimizing the load of an EMM message to transmit. In a security device in a conditional access system, a key database stores a user key(UK) allocated peculiarly to a subscriber(350). A decoder sequentially decodes an update key encoded into the user key(UK), a channel management key encoded into the update key, and a control word encoded into the channel management key which are received from a head end(300) side of the conditional access system by using the user key(UK) stored in the key database, and generates a control word(CW).
