    Abstract: A novel titanium dioxide catalyst having an increased specific surface area by adding a surfactant and a method for preparing the same are provided to offer superior light resolution ability and to increase a specific surface area in comparison with a conventional titandioxide catalyst. A novel titanium dioxide catalyst having an increased specific surface with a titandioxide catalyst layer(20) fixed on a supporter and the support has a specific surface of 100 ~ 300 m^2/g. The thickness of the titandioxide catalyst layer is 2 ~ 15mum. A supporter is optical fiber. A diameter of the optical fiber is 0.5 ~ 5 mm. A manufacturing method of a titandioxide catalyst includes the following steps of reacting titanium alkoxide in a mixture of a solvent and a surfactant; fixing a reactant on the supporter; extracting the surfactant from the reactant fixed on the supporter; and sintering the extracted reactant with the surfactant.
