Abstract: A converter device using an auxiliary converter is provided to reduce capacity of a smoothing reactor by reducing a ripple voltage. A converter device includes a main converter(110) and an auxiliary converter(120). The main converter is serially connected to the auxiliary converter. The main converter has a pair of internal converters(111,112). The voltage transformed with a transformation ratio of 1:pN and 1:pݻ3N is inputted to the pair of internal converters of the main converter. The auxiliary converter has the pair of internal converters(121,122). The voltage transformed with a transformation ratio of 1:sN and 1:sݻ3N is inputted to the pair of converters of the auxiliary converter.
