Abstract: PURPOSE: A method for selecting a back-off counter, an apparatus thereof, and a computer program product on the wireless mesh network are provided to dynamically change a back-off counter of each relay node according to a communication environment of a relay node. CONSTITUTION: A contention window determining unit(930) determines the size of a contention window in order to reduce the size of the contention window of the relay node. A transmission collision sensing unit(940) senses whether to fail transmission attempt by transmission collision. A controlling unit(950) retransmits data traffic until a back-off counter terminates.
