Abstract: An amplifying method and an amplifying apparatus using an adaptive predistortion based on a polynomial of a direct learning architecture are provided to simplify a structure of the amplifying apparatus by removing a postdistortion unit and a training block. A predistortion unit receives an input signal x(n) and outputs a compensated output signal, which is compensated by using a polynomial-based scheme, by using a polynomial coefficient w(n-1), which is received from a coefficient extractor. An amplifier is connected to an output side of the predistortion unit, receives an input signal y(n), and outputs an amplified output signal a(n). The coefficient extractor receives a feedback signal and an input signal x(n-1), obtains the polynomial coefficient of the predistortion unit, and transmits the coefficient to the predistortion unit. The feedback signal is obtained by dividing the output signal of the amplifier by a gain K of the amplifier. A postdistortion unit or a training block is removed from a feedback loop between an output side of the amplifier and the coefficient extractor.
