Abstract: PURPOSE: A wireless positioning apparatus and a mobile station are provided to activate various location based services. CONSTITUTION: A wireless positioning apparatus receives a plurality of channel responses for a plurality of locations, generates a plurality of channel response patterns from the plurality of channel responses, and stores the plurality of channel response patterns. The wireless positioning apparatus receives an estimated channel response from a mobile station and compares the estimated channel response with the plurality of channel response patterns to estimate a location of the mobile station. The wireless positioning apparatus provides the estimated location information to the mobile station.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A location measurement method is provided to measure the location of the terminal for which a public safety mode is set up. CONSTITUTION: If a public safety mode which enables location tracing is set up even through the power of a terminal is turned off(S410), the terminal obtains measurement information. The terminal transfers the measurement information to a public safety monitoring system(S430). The terminal receives from the public safety management system a pubic safety mode setup request message including the information for controlling the terminal. The terminal is set up as the public safety mode by responding to the public safety setup request message.

Abstract: A radio packet communication system and a method for allocating radio resources therein are provided to improve the efficiency of a control channel and to increase the number of simultaneously accessing users by reducing the size of control information for packet transmission. A radio packet communication system(10), which uses a header compression transport protocol, includes a header compression part(110), an allocation control part(120), and a resource allocation part(130). The header compression part compresses the header of a packet, and creates a phase information signal containing the phase information of the packet. The allocation control part receives the phase information signal. Based on the received phase information signal, the allocation control part determines a method to allocate radio resources for the packet. In this case, the allocation control part creates the first allocation request signal or the second allocation request signal. If the first allocation request signal is received from the allocation control part, the resource allocation part allocates radio resources for the packet according to dynamic scheduling. In case the second allocation request signal is received, the resource allocation part allocates radio resources for the packet according to persistent scheduling.

Abstract: An apparatus and a method for measuring real time performance of the Linux kernel are provided to measure the real time performance easily by measuring the whole delay time including all the sections which is different from a conventional method where task preoccupation delay time is measured for each section. A method for measuring real time performance of the Linux kernel comprises the following several steps. A user inputs instructions including an interrupt cycle via an IO unit(310). An interrupt generator generates an RTC(Real Time Clock) interrupt with a set cycle on the basis of the instructions from the user(320). If a task matched with the interrupt is performed, a controller measures a start time of the task(330). Until the measurement is completed according to the instructions from the user or repeated measurements, the controller repeats the interrupt generation and measurements of the task start times(340). If the measurement is finished, the controller calculates an interval among the measured task start times(350), compares the interval with the interrupt cycle, and outputs a comparison result to the user(360).

Abstract: A method for performing unified setup of multi partition dependency in an embedded system is provided to enhance development efficiency by enabling a developer to check easily stability of a system set up by the developer on various structures and environments. A method for performing unified setup of multi partition dependency comprises the following several steps. At least one partition is set up on the embedded system(S01). A position of an application program installed on the embedded system which is implemented by multi partitions is set up(S02). Dependency among application programs installed on the embedded system and stability of a system in accordance with the installation positions of the application programs is checked(S03). It is determined whether the system is in a stable setup(S04), and if not so in the step S04, an alarm message is outputted(S05). It is checked whether or not unified setup of the system is finished(S06), and if so in the step S06, an image of the embedded system is generated according to corresponding setup(S07).

Abstract: An apparatus for controlling the states of a terminal, a method thereof, and an apparatus for transferring a paging message are provided to increase efficiency in using radio resources and to minimize the power consumption of a terminal by controlling state transition of the terminal according to QoS levels and applying different mobility management methods according to states of the terminal. A state control apparatus comprises a state control part(410), which exists in a network layer(III), and a sub-state control part(430), which exists in a data link layer(II). The state control part(410) sets a terminal to become a connected state or a disconnected state. Also the state control part(410) transits disconnected state of the terminal to an active state or an idle state. The sub-state control part(430) transits the active state of the terminal to an active sub-state or an idle sub-state. The state control part(410) allocates shared radio resources when the terminal is in the active state. The sub-state control part(430) measures the level of QoS through a measurement channel when the terminal is in the active sub-state, and allocates a part of shared radio resources dedicatedly to the terminal. The sub-state control part(430) inactivates the measurement channel when the terminal is in the idle sub-state. The sub-state control part(430), when the terminal is in the idle sub-state, operates a control channel and a data channel in a DTX(Discontinuous Transmission) or DRX(Discontinuous) method.

Abstract: A state control device of a cellular system and a controlling method are provided to control state transition of a terminal according to QoS(Quality of Service) and the type of a packet service, thus efficient use of radio resources is possible while power consumption is reduced. When the state of a terminal is set as an active state, a resource manager(410) allocates reverse and forward traffic channels to the terminal, and if the state is set as an idle state, the manager(410) enables the terminal to stop synchronous maintenance for the reverse traffic channel. When a sub state of the active-state terminal is set as a scheduling state, a scheduler(440) allocates resources of the reverse and forward traffic channels to the terminal according to QoS supported to the terminal, and when the sub state is set as a scheduling excluding state, the scheduler(440) enables the terminal to non-continuously transceive packet data through the reverse and forward traffic channels.
