    Abstract: A light transmission equipment for an Ethernet in RPR(Resilient Packet Ring) protocol and a ring network using the same are provided to monitor a ring lower part terminal, and improve the efficiency in device management through strengthened monitoring function. An optical Ethernet transform unit(110) processes the input signal received from the outer ring. A signal processing unit(120) comprises the processor(122) and memory(124). The signal processing unit analyzes the parallel input signal transformed from the optical Ethernet, and processes in order to fit the RPR process operation for the IEEE 802.17 protocol specification. An interface unit(130) receives the signal processed with the signal processing unit. A switching unit(140) converts the received serial Ethernet signal into the parallel configuration. A signal transducer(150) converts the generated and various signal as described above into the Ethernet signal.

    Abstract: A method for indicating a fault of a distribution line is provided to restrict a supervisor from delaying judging and processing a fault and to secure operation efficiency by separately processing FI(Fault Indication) generation information and judgment of the fault patterns. A method for indicating a fault of a distribution line is composed of the steps of: generating first FI information(S201); detecting fault sequence(S202); setting the fault pattern(S203); and clearing an FI operation(S204). During the first FI information generating step, current/voltage is measured all the time and the distribution line is determined as defective if current over a pickup current value is detected. In addition, a recloser generates FI generation information at the lockout time. An FRTU(Feeder Remote Terminal Unit) generates fault information when the voltage is decreased below a set value, in executing a lockout operation by a protection device.
