Abstract: Methods, systems, and storage media described herein may have the complexity to support simultaneous communications (e.g., transmission/reception to/from) with two or more cells. Therefore, before configuring a handover, the network needs to know if these methods, systems, and storage media can support simultaneous communication with multiple cells or not. Among other things, these methods, systems, and storage media can reduce the interruption time during handovers for when these methods, systems, and storage media are capable of such simultaneous communication.

Abstract: An apparatus of a user equipment (UE) comprises one or more baseband processors to process a bandwidth part (BWP) switching request from a serving cell at slot n, and to perform an active BWP switch to a new BWP on the serving cell at a time no later than slot n+Y, wherein Y is a BWP switching delay. The one or more baseband processors are to accommodate a timing advance (TA) value to determine when to perform the active BWP switch. The apparatus can include a memory to store the BWP switching request.

Abstract: Technology for a user equipment (UE) operable to decode measurement gap patterns received from a Next Generation NodeB (gNB) is disclosed. The UE can decode a per-frequency range (per-FR) measurement gap pattern received from the gNB in a New Radio (NR) system. The per-FR measurement gap pattern can indicate a measurement gap partem for monitoring selected frequency layers within a frequency range at the UE. The UE can process one or more measurements for the selected frequency layers within the frequency range. The one or more measurements for the selected frequency layers can be measured in accordance with the per-FR measurement gap pattern. The UE can encode the one or more measurements for the selected frequency layers for reporting to the gNB.
