Abstract:
Performing cell re-selection by a device. A first cell on which to camp may be selected. The device may camp on the first cell in an idle-mode. The device may be configured to perform searches for neighboring cells according to an idle-mode timeline while camping on the first cell. The device may transmit a connection request to the first cell in order to transition the device from the idle-mode to a connected-mode via the first cell. One or more searches for neighboring cells may be performed according to a connected-mode timeline after transmitting the connection request, in response to transmitting the connection request. The one or more searches may be performed before the device establishes the connected-mode with the first cell.
Abstract:
Adjusting search and measurement periodicity based on device motion. A wireless device may camp on a serving cell. Signal strength, signal quality, and signal to noise ratio of the serving cell may be measured. If each is above a respective threshold, and if the wireless device is stationary, the periodicities at which searches and neighbor cell measurements are performed may be adjusted (e.g., increased) from baseline periodicities.
Abstract:
Improving transmission control protocol (TCP) uplink performance of a wireless user equipment (UE) device which multiplexes radio resources between multiple radio access technologies (RATs). Radio control may be provided to a radio resource control (RRC) entity that operates according to a first RAT at a first time. The first RAT may utilize TCP packet-switched (PS) communications. As a second time, radio control may be provided to an RRC entity that operates according to a second RAT which utilizes circuit-switched communications in order to check for paging messages. Radio control by the first RAT's RRC entity may be suspended while radio control is provided to the second RAT's RRC entity. An indication that radio control by the first RAT's RRC entity is suspended may be provided to a TCP entity that operates according to the first RAT. The TCP entity may suspend an uplink retransmission timer in response to the indication.
Abstract:
Methods, apparatuses and computer readable media are described that adjust connection states between a mobile wireless device and a wireless network upon detection of a connection state synchronization failure. After an interruption of a connection between the mobile wireless device and the wireless network, the mobile wireless device responds to a paging message received from the wireless network to establish a new radio resource control (RRC) connection or to re-establish an RRC connection with the wireless network, when an internal state of the mobile wireless device an at least a portion of contents of the paging message indicate the connection state synchronization failure.
