    Abstract: A lighting apparatus includes a first visible light source, a near-infrared (near-IR) radiation source, and a controller. The first visible light source emits a light with a color temperature between 1900K to 6800K, and the near-IR radiation source emitting a wavelength in the 700 nm to 1400 nm wavelength range, and in some cases, with at least 300 nm continuous spectral range of emission between 700 nm to 1400 nm. The radiation energy emitted by the lighting apparatus in the 700 nm to 1400 nm wavelength range is less than the radiation energy emitted by the lighting apparatus in the 380 nm to 700 nm wavelength range. In some embodiments, the controller is configured to strobe the first visible light source with a strobing frequency between 35 Hz and 45 Hz via either an amplitude modulation strobing or a color temperature fusion strobing.

    Abstract: A lighting device that comprises a housing, a first visible light source, a second visible light source, an air filter, an airway, and an air circulation mechanism for each airway. The first visible light source contributes to the light output of the device, whereas the second visible light source is responsible for germicidal irradiation by activating a visible-light activatable photocatalytic coating on the air filter. The airway has an air inlet and an air outlet. The air circulation mechanism sucks an ambient air through the air inlet, forces the air through the air filter, and releases the air through the air outlet. The air filter traps airborne particles. The second visible light source is disposed adjacent to the air filter and activates a photocatalyst material in the antiviral photocatalytic coating. Airborne microbials trapped by the air filter are decomposed by the activated photocatalyst material in the antiviral photocatalytic coating.

    Abstract: A photocatalytic device includes one transparent or translucent carrier and at least one photocatalytic film. The carrier is in the form of a sheet with two opposite surface. At least one of the two surfaces of the carrier is at least partially coated with the photocatalytic film. The photocatalytic film is photocatalytic activated by visible light with wavelength>400 nm for providing the antibacterial functionality. In some situation, only the outer surface of the carrier is coated with the photocatalytic film. In other situation, only the inner surface of the carrier is coated with the photocatalytic film. There are situations where both surfaces of the carrier are coated with the photocatalytic film. The carrier has an attaching mechanism for attaching the carrier to the external solid object, and the carrier is attachable to and detachable from the external solid object hands of a user without using a tool.
