Abstract: Novel azalactone dyes of formula: (in which A is an opt. substd. biphenylene, 9,10-dihydrophenanthrylene, naphthylene or phenylene gp., and R are identical or different heterocyclic gps) are useful for dyeing or printing of synthetic fibres, esp. polyesters, and mass colouring of thermoplastics in greenish-to reddish-yellow shades. (I) give brilliant shades with very good fastness.
