Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for coating a molded foam part with a plastic film, characterized in that a) the molded foam part is arranged in a capsule and fastened, the plastic film being interposed between the capsule wall and the molded foam part, b) the air in the chamber between the plastic film and the molded foam part is evacuated, c) thereby pressing the plastic film onto the molded foam part, and a vacuum is maintained during the pressing step. The invention also relates molded foam parts that are accessible for the first time by using said method and to the use of said molded foam parts.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for the production of a foam comprising at least one antimicrobial active agent, comprising the following steps: (1) producing a solution or dispersion comprising at least one pre-condensate 10 of the foam to be produced, and at least one antimicrobial active agent, (2) foaming the pre-condensate by heating the solution or dispersion from step (1) in order to obtain a foam having at least one antimicrobial active agent, and (3) tempering the foam obtained in step (2) at a temperature of 120 to 300°C. The invention further relates a foam produced in this manner, a molded part comprising such a foam, and the use of such a foam for the heat and sound insulation of buildings and building parts, for the heat and sound insulation of the interior spaces of vehicles and aircraft, for low temperature insulation, as an insulating wall covering, as an insulating and impact damping packaging material, as abrasively acting cleaning, grinding, and polishing sponges, in the hygiene sector, and as filter material.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for obtaining water for domestic use by the condensation of mist on the webs of an open-cell aminoplast-based foam and/or to a method for obtaining water for domestic use by the evaporation of water containing salt or impurities from the cells of an open-cell aminoplast-based foam and by the condensation of the evaporated water. The open-cell foam is produced from a melamine/formaldehyde condensation product with a molar ratio of melamine to formaldehyde ranging between 1:1 and 1:5.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a multi-layered foamed composite element having a total thickness d, comprising at least three layers of open-celled foam. At least one of the inner layers comprises recesses and both external layers do not have recesses. The composite element is characterised in that i) the volume of the recesses is 20 to 70 vol % in the internal layer comprising the recesses, and ii) the thickness of the layer comprising the recesses is 20 to 80% of the total thickness d.
Abstract:
The invention relates to the use of molded bodies as dust-binding means in vacuum cleaners. The molded bodies according to the invention have length/width/height dimensions ranging from 1 mm to 3 cm, at least one dimension being larger than 5.5 mm, and are produced by treating (a) an open-cell foam material having a density ranging from 5 to 500 kg/m3 and a mean pore diameter ranging from 1 μm to 1 mm (b) with an aqueous formulation of at least one compound having at least one hemiaminal group or aminal group per molecule or at least one copolymer which contains at least one OH group- or β-dicarbonyl group- or epoxy group-containing comonomer polymerized into it, (c) and a shaping step.
Abstract:
Melamine/formaldehyde foams which contain 0.01 to 45% by weight of a particulate filler having a median particle diameter in the range from 5 µm to 3 mm, wherein the % by weight is based on the total weight of the melamine/formaldehyde precondensate and filler used for the foam production.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a galvanic element containing an open-pored foamed plastic based on a melamine/formaldehyde foamed plastic, the cell pores being completely or partially filled with a free-flowing electrolyte. The invention also relates to a method for producing a battery, accumulator or fuel cell.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an open-cell foam based on a melamine-formaldehyde condensation product, polyurethane or polyimide, which is modified with hydrophobines, to a method for producing such foams, and to the use thereof for absorbing organic fluids, as leakage and drain guard for fluid reservoirs, for fluid-fluid separation, and as a matrix for performing chemical and/or biological processes.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a foam material from a foam matrix comprising substantially open cells and a finish from substantially fluorocarbon resin or silicone resin applied to the foam matrix. The finish additionally contains at least one fire-retardant substance. The invention also relates to a method for producing the inventive foam.
