    Abstract: Described is ultrasonic distance-measuring equipment in which an emitter generates a signal in the form of a pulse which is reflected and converted by a receiver into an electrical echo signal. By measuring the travel time between emission and reception of the signal, the distance separating the emitter and receiver is determined. Since the intensity of the echo signal relative to that of the emitted signal depends on the nature of the reflector and the distance separating the emitter and receiver, inaccuracies can occur in the analysis of the echo signal. These are avoided by changing a switching threshold or by changing the echo-signal amplification, or by modifying the emitted signal as a function of the previously received echo signal.

    Abstract: A circuit arrangement with a differential transformer is proposed, the transformer core (8) of which is used as a distance sensor. To eliminate temperature influences and other influences impairing the measurement result, it is provided that the aggregate voltage of the two secondary coils (4, 5) is kept constant by regulating the primary voltage (Up). This, at the same time, results in a linearisation of the distance signal.

    Abstract: A device (11) for adjusting a nominal value is proposed in which an adjusting lever (16) is connected in a simple manner with a rotating shaft (19), arranged in a bush (14), of a potentiometer (20). A ball (28) can be unlocked out of a recess (22) by exciting an electromagnet (32), so that a tension spring (25) tensioned by the movement of the bush (14) automatically moves the bush (14) back into an initial position (22'). The device (11) provides for reliable and rapid adjustment of nominal values. The bush (14) can become rapidly and simply unlocked out of a set operating position and is automatically moved back into an initial position (22').

    Abstract: The injection-molding machine is operative when activated for performing a complete injection-molding cycle. The machine includes a mold defining a mold cavity, a plastifying and injecting screw, and an hydraulic cylinder-and-piston unit for driving the screw. During the course of a single injection-molding cycle, negative-feedback control of the pressure in the mold cavity undergoes an automatic transition into negative-feedback control of the pressure in the hydraulic cylinder of the cylinder-and-piston unit. The transition is selected to be abrupt or gradual, and if gradual there will be a transitional interval during which a composite negative-feedback control of both the mold cavity and hydraulic cylinder pressures is occurring.
