CONSTITUTION: The printing device is provided with a printing device main body 1 including a video controller 27 provided with a video signal generation means generating a video signal from image information based on a recording command from an external device and a control means and an integrating controller 114 having an option unit control means which can be connected to the main body 1 and which controls at least one option unit 32. The controller 27 is provided with a processing time information means reporting a plotting/ expansion processing time with respect to the controller 114. The controller 114 is provided with a paper carrying time storage means storing a paper carrying time required to carry the paper from the optional paper supply point to the entrance of the printing device, a comparison means comparing the processing time with the paper carrying time and a paper supply destination change means changing the paper supply destination when it is judged by the comprison means that the processing time is shorter than the paper carrying time.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To provide an image forming device and its control method which can save power consumption and shorten the first printing time. CONSTITUTION: All power sources of a printing section 17 are set OFF in a printer 250 when a host computer 150 is in the first stage (standby state or error state). When the host computer is in the second stage (state of not preparing for printing), the temperature of fixing unit is set at standby temperature while other power sources of the printing section 17 remain to be OFF. When the host computer 150 is in the third stage (in preparation for printing), the power sources of the printing section 17 are set ON, and the temperature of the fixing unit is set to be ordinary temperature.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To designate the memory to which data are transferred by setting a command to inform a capacity of a desired memory by a data transfer destination and transferring the command to the data transfer destination. CONSTITUTION:A host computer 10 sends character patterns of character codes not stored in a character generator 18 or a nonvolatile memory 19 of a printer among document data to the printer through a data line. Prior to the transmission processing of the character pattern, the host computer 10 sends a command to confirm the memory capacity of the printer to the printer. Thus, the memory capacity of the data transfer destination is recognized before data transfer and the memory capacity is informed in response to an instruction inquiring the memory capacity entered externally and to which memory the data are transferred is designated.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To eliminate inconvenience caused by processing the received data causing an error by resetting internal data after error generation and ignoring data inputted after that in a prescribed cycle. CONSTITUTION:In an online state, an enable signal 125 is turned on to start a timer 19. When print data is inputted and input of the data is reported to a main control section 13 through a signal 127, whether or not a timeout signal 126 is inputted from the timer 19 before inputting the data is checked. When not, the timer 19 is reset every time the signal 127 is received. The print data inputted through an input I/F section 11 is discarded as it is and the counting of the timer 19 is started. Thus, the print data set in a memory 15 and inputted in a prescribed time is discarded after reading without being sent to a page memory 12.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To reduce power consumption and to prevent the interception by a 3rd party by sequentially revising a transmission output power by a radio communication equipment at data transfer. CONSTITUTION:A unit at a sender side sends a command to sense a state of a receiver side unit and discriminates whether or not a transmission output is proper based on a status returned by the receiver side unit. When a transmission output is proper, a transmission output level is newly stored in a control section 104 of the sender side unit corresponding to an ID code of the receiver side unit and a control section 104 of the receiver side unit stores newly a transmission output level corresponding to an ID code of the sender side unit. Thus, a table of a transmission output corresponding to other unit is generated in a memory 105 of each unit. When the preparation of the receiver side unit is finished, the sender side unit sends a start bit to start data transfer.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To enable efficient print by providing the mode printing data when one page of input data are arranged and the mode printing data after data by plural pages inputted within a prescribed time are stored. CONSTITUTION:Picture dot data sent from an external facsimile equipment are once loaded to a hard disk 111. When a time setting set to a timer 104 managing an input period of picture data is zero, data in the hard disk 111 are loaded again to a bit map memory 102 when data by one page are arranged and printing is started. When a time other than 0 is set to the timer 104, a main control section 103 keeps loading picture data to the hard disk 111 till a detection signal 122 after a time preset to the timer 104 elapses. Then the data are printed out altogether when no data are received for a prescribed time. The frequent ON/OFF of a print section with respect to the input of intermittent picture data is avoided.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To effectively cash a character pattern composed of a large number of dots by a method wherein when an image is recorded according to a dot pattern which is stored in a memory from among dot patterns stored in a cash memory, the dot pattern is converted to a dot pattern based on the record resolving power. CONSTITUTION:First, it is judged whether or not a character pattern is stored in a font cash memory 204 according to a font code and decorative information which are input. Next, it is judged whether the character pattern is for 300dpi or for 600dpi, and when it is for 600dpi, the character pattern is expanded on a bit map memory 208 as it is. And, when it is for 300dpi, the character pattern is expanded on the memory 208 after magnified two times. After that, a main controller 205 issues a print start signal to a printer 211 to start print processing. Then, the image data in the memory 208 are output as video signals to the printer 211 via a parallel/serial converter 209 every time a synchronous signal is input from the printer 211.
