Abstract:
A system or method of forming an oral care implement and an oral care implement formed thereby comprising a base structure having a handle portion and a head portion. The method may comprise providing a first mold that defines a first mold cavity having a first portion that corresponds to the handle portion and a second portion that corresponds to the head portion; injecting a first material into the first portion of the first mold cavity via a first injection orifice with a first hot runner sub-system; and injecting a second material into the first portion of the first mold cavity via a second injection orifice with a second hot runner sub-system, the second material being injected into the first material thereby forming the base structure, the second material forming a core component and the first material forming a shell component of the base structure that surrounds the core component.
Abstract:
A method of forming a bristle field for an oral care implement. The method includes providing a bundle of bristles and aligning the bundle of bristles with an insertion opening in a guide member. Upon insertion into the guide member, the guide member divides the bundle of bristles into a plurality of bristle tufts. The guide member can be aligned with tuft holes on a head or head plate of an oral care implement so that the bundle of bristles can be inserted through the guide member and into the tuft holes. As a result, a single bundle of bristles can be used to mount a plurality of bristle tufts to the head or head plate.
Abstract:
A package (10) for displaying a plurality of items (12) where the package has first (20) and second (22) containers connectable between an open position and a closed position, each container having an outer surface having at least one elongated protrusion (26), the at least one protrusion having a head end (26a) and a tail end (26b), the head end extending further outwardly from the package than the tail end, and an inner surface having at least one inner cavity (30) aligned with the at least one protrusion, the cavity having a depth varying along the protrusion and configured to receive one of the plurality of items, wherein the head end of the at least one protrusion, of the first container is proximate the tail end of the al least one protrusion, of the second container in the closed position.
Abstract:
A carton (10) for a plurality of products comprising a front (12) and a rear panel (16), the front and the rear panel connected one to the other by a top panel (18) and a bottom panel (20) each of the front, the top and the bottom panel having appended side flaps (26,28,30,32,34,36). Each of the appended side flaps of the top panel and the bottom panel having a recess (25,27,35,37), the recesses of the top panel flaps being in alignment with the recesses of the bottom panel flaps to form a combined recess. A product separator (40) located in the carton has a separator panel (42) with an appended first panel (44) and a second panel (45), each of the first panel and the second panel being fitted into a combined recess to secure the product separator in the carton.
Abstract:
An oral hygiene device (100) is provided having a head (20) and a handle (30). The handle (30) is configured to accommodate a user's hand grip when the head (20) is inserted into a user's mouth. The head is further configured to accommodate, at a distal end of the handle (30), a proximal end (22) of the head (20). One of the head (20) and the handle (30) is provided with a cavity (50) configured to receive a supply of floss (60). The cavity (50) becomes accessible when the head (20) and the handle (30) are at least partially detached from one another.
Abstract:
An oral care toothbrush (10) includes a head (12) mounted to one end of the handle (14) containing a plurality of oral care elements (26). An oral care accessory is mounted to the opposite end of the handle. An oral care dispenser (32) is mounted in the head within the cleaning field defined by the oral care elements. The oral care dispenser may be held in place by a plurality of prongs (81) located in the field defined by the oral care elements. The toothbrush may be made of small size and of lightweight so as to be readily portable for use away from the home.
