    Abstract: A network node includes control plane functionality for managing a session of a user equipment (UE) which is anchored at a User Plane Function (UPF) anchor for communicating traffic between the UE and a data network. The node operates to obtain, from an Access and Mobility Management Function (AMF), a session context request responsive to a handover indication indicating a handover of the session from a Fifth Generation System (5GS) to an Evolved Packet System (EPS). The node identifies whether an uplink classifier (UL-CL) UPF is in use for local offloading to a local UPF anchor for delivery to a local area data network. Based on the identifying, the node obtains uplink tunnel information of the UL-CL UPF instead of the UPF anchor for establishing at least one bearer for the session and sends to the AMF a session context response including the uplink tunnel information of the UL-CL UPF.

    Abstract: A method is provided for handling a voice call in a heterogeneous network environment by a wireless device. The method includes sending a registration request to a network node in a Next Generation (5G) network. The wireless device has an existing voice call on a different network in the heterogeneous network environment. The method further includes receiving a registration acceptance from the network node in the 5G network. The registration acceptance indicates that IMS voice services are supported, but existing voice calls are not supported. The method further includes determining to stop an attempt to move the existing voice call to the 5G network.

    Abstract: Techniques are described for providing wireless network connectivity using a distributed mobility management functionality. In one example, each of a plurality of on-premise access points co-locate a mobility management functionality and a packet routing and forwarding functionality. Each of the plurality of on-premise access points obtain, from user equipment, a request to wirelessly connect to the on-premise access point. Each of the plurality of on-premise access points provide the user equipment with wireless network connectivity using the co-located mobility management functionality and the packet routing and forwarding functionality.

    Abstract: In accordance with various embodiments, a method is performed including establishing a first communication session between an application function and a user equipment assigned a first IP address. The method includes determining, by the application function, that the user equipment has changed location. The method includes, in response to determining that the user equipment has changed location, sending, by the application function, a request that the user equipment be assigned a second IP address. The method includes establishing a second communication session between the application function and the user equipment assigned the second IP address.
