    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ignition system for internal combustion engine that is excellent in both durability and assembling property. SOLUTION: In this ignition system for internal combustion engine, an ignition plug constituted by combining an ignition coil containing a primary coil 31 electrically connected to a pair of terminals 61 and 62 with a center electrode and a grounding terminal is integrally housed in a cylindrical case which is made longer in length in the axial direction. In this ignition system, the terminal face 611 (621) of either one of the terminals 61 and 62 is brought into contact with a first wound surface 311 which is one end of the electric wire of the primary coil 31. In addition, the terminal face 621 (611) of the other one of the terminals 61 and 62 is brought into contact with a second wound surface 312 which is the other end of the electric wire of the coil 31.
