Abstract:
The present application provides a shaft speed monitoring system for a pulse detonation combustor with a number of combustion tubes and positioned about a shaft of a pulse detonation turbine engine. The shaft speed monitoring system may include one or more shaft sensors positioned about the shaft and a control in communication with the shaft sensors to determine a number of shaft speed fluctuations related to each of the combustion tubes.
Abstract:
The invention relates to providing policy from an integrated policy server to a mobile device, comprising identifying a policy in an integrated policy server applicable to the mobile device and supplying policy elements to policy transports for transmission to the mobile device. The invention also relates to providing policy from an integrated policy server to a mobile device, including identifying a policy in the integrated policy server applicable to the mobile device, determining whether the mobile device is in compliance with the policy, and supplying policy elements to policy transports for transmission to the mobile device when the mobile device is not in compliance with the policy. The invention further relates to controlling access to a data server by a mobile device, including identifying a policy in an integrated policy server applicable to the mobile device, and determining whether the mobile device is in compliance with the policy.

Abstract:
Several methods are provided for applying minimization to computer systems. A unified security profile is created and applied to a computer system. This provides a listing of software packages required to be installed on the computer system. Extraneous files not associated with a required software package are identified. In one method, a software module interposes between calls to filesystem operations and the filesystem. This module allows or denies access to files based on a configuration information source (which is itself based on the unified security profile), the zone from which the access request originates, and the privileges of the user making the request. Reference to each file minimized is removed from the computer system's package manifest. Files thus minimized are neither visible nor accessible to unauthorized entities on the computer system. If the unified security profile of the system is required to change, minimization actions can therefore be reversed.
Abstract:
A system is disclosed for formulating structure descriptions from data. In some embodiments, data arrives with an unknown format. The data may be ad hoc data that is considered semi-structured. Disclosed embodiments analyze chunks of the data to determine tokens. Tokens are analyzed to identify base types and compound types such as structs, unions, and arrays. Descriptions are generated and undergo scoring and rewriting for optimization. The generated descriptions may be fed to a data description language such as Processing Ad Hoc Data System (PADS) and compiled for processing the raw data. In some embodiments, the raw data is parsed, printed, or reformatted using the generated descriptions.
Abstract:
Sequences encoding two immunoreactive glycoproteins were cloned from Ehrlichia canis (p153 gene) and Ehrlichia chaffeensis (p156 gene). These two glycoproteins are species-specific immunoreactive orthologs that are useful as subunit vaccines and for serologic and molecular diagnostics for E. canis and E. chaffeensis.
Abstract:
An improved well completion system for completing two or more separate production zones in a well bore during a single downhole trip is disclosed. The improved completion system comprises a completion assembly comprising two or more production zone assemblies and a completion tool assembly. Each production zone assembly may comprise an automatic system locating assembly and at least two inverted seal systems for sealing against the tool assembly.
Abstract:
Vegetable or fruit pieces such as potato wedges or chunks and the like are blanched and then roasted. The post-roast pieces are then infused with liquid preferably such as an aqueous solution as by spraying or dipping to result in a post-roast product weight increase on the order of up to about 20% by weight, followed by freezing for shipment and/or storage. This invention enhances process control by providing a means of independent control of color development and moisture. The thus-prepared and frozen potato pieces are suitable for subsequent finish preparation as by finish frying or oven heating, resulting in a finish-prepared product having a desirable combination of taste, texture and appearance attributes. The invention is not limited to potatoes but includes other vegetables and fruits as well.
