Abstract: The present invention relates to a system for regulating the output of a radiation source The system is comprised of a power source terminal radiation source connected in circuit with the power source terminal and an electronic switch connected in circuit with the power source terminal and the radiation source to control the energization of the radiation source. A radiation sensor is optically coupled and responsive to the radiation output of the radiation source. A feedback circuit is provided, responsive to the radiation sensor and connected to control the electronic switch. The feedback circuit has a first output condition in response to a first value of radiation output from the radiation source. This first condition places the switch into a non-conducting condition to terminate energization of the source. When the radiation sensed reaches a second value below the first value the feedback circuit takes on a second condition that places the switch into a conducting condition. This regulates the radiation source very precisely.
