    Abstract: The contact lens (10) has one or more projections (12) on its outer surface (11) to interact with the wearer's eyelids. Each projection is elongated and curved in shape, following the line of the perimeter of the lens, and has sloping ends and a flat top. The angle covered by the flat top of a projection is equivalent to half the angle covered by the whole projection. The thickness of each projection is between 0.2 and 0.24 mm, and the radius of the arc of its centre line (L) is between 0.7 and 0.9 of the radius of the lens, and it covers an angle of between 60 degrees and 150 degrees .
