    Abstract: A process is provided for production of a refrigerating circuit comprising non-evaporable getter material, wherein said getter material, previously introduced into the same circuit, is heated to a temperature of at least 200° C. during or immediately after the circuit evacuating step, at a residual atmospheric gas pressure of not less than 10 mbar, before introduction of the mixture of cooling fluids and before the circuit sealing. Preferred is the use of zirconium-based getter alloys.

    Abstract: A combination of materials is disclosed, comprising a getter alloy and one or more oxides chosen among Ag2O, CuO, MnO2 and Co3O4. To these combinations, a third component, consisting in an alloy rare earths, yttrium, lanthanum or their mixtures with copper, tin or their mixtures, is added. The combinations of the invention are useful for the preparation of getter devices which can be activated at relatively low temperatures, from about 280 to 500 DEG C, while the activation of the getter materials generally requires temperatures of from 350 to 900 DEG C. A few getter devices are also disclosed, which contain the combinations of materials of the invention.

    Abstract: A device (10) for introducing hydrogen into a flat display (14) of the field emission or plasma addressed liquid crystal type is described, formed of a reservoir (11) containing a hydrogen accumulator material (21) connected to the internal space (13) of the display by means of a wall (15) permeable to the passage of hydrogen gas as a function of the temperature. The device comprises a heater (19) and a heater (22) for bringing respectively the wall and the accumulator material to the desired temperatures, or a single heater which carries out both cited functions. There is also described a method by which the device is activated whenever the flat display is working, the switching on of said heater being arranged in order to bring the wall itself to a previously calculated temperature.

    Abstract: Non-evaporable getter (NEG) alloys comprising zirconium, cobalt and one or more components selected among yttrium, lanthanum or rare earths such that, in the ternary diagram of weight % compositions, they are enclosed in the polygon defined by the points: a) Zr 81% - Co 9% - A 10%; b) Zr 68% - Co 22% - A 10%; c) Zr 74% - Co 24% - A 2%; d) Zr 88% - Co 10% - A 2%. wherein A is any element selected among yttrium, lanthanum, rare earths or mixtures thereof. They may be activated at relatively low temperatures and are capable of sorbing a wide variety of gases. Furthermore, the alloys of the invention are safer from the environmental and safety point of view with respect to other similar alloys, in that not containing metals which are toxic or capable of forming toxic compounds.
