    Abstract: A method of treating a subterranean formation comprising: introducing a first cement composition into the subterranean formation, wherein the first cement composition comprises: (A) a first aluminate cement; and (B) a base fluid; simultaneously introducing a second cement composition into the subterranean formation, wherein the second cement composition comprises: (A) a second cement consisting of cement or a pozzolan; and (B) a base fluid, wherein at least a portion of the first and second cement compositions mix together after introduction into the subterranean formation to form a mixed cement composition, and wherein at least some of the first and second cement compositions or at least some of the mixed cement composition enters into a highly-permeable area located within the subterranean formation; and allowing the mixed cement composition to set. The base fluid can be an aqueous liquid or a hydrocarbon liquid.

    Abstract: Disclosed herein are cement compositions and methods of using cement compositions in subterranean formations. An embodiment discloses a method of formulating a cement composition. The method may comprise measuring surface area of a group of pozzolans, wherein the smallest measured surface area of the group of pozzolans and the largest measured surface area of the group of pozzolans vary by about 50% or greater. The method may further comprise selecting one or more pozzolans from the group of pozzolans. The method may further comprise adding components comprising lime and water to the selected one or more pozzolans to form a cement composition.

    Abstract: Extended-life cement compositions are provided and, more particularly, extended-life cement compositions are provided that comprise a cementitious component comprising red mud solids and hydraulic cement. A method of cementing may comprise providing an extended-life cement composition comprising a cementitious component, water, and a cement set retarder, wherein the cementitious component comprises red mud solids and a hydraulic cement; activating the extended-life cement composition; introducing the extended-life cement composition into a subterranean formation; and allowing the extended-life cement composition to set in the subterranean formation.

    Abstract: Some embodiments described herein provide a method comprising method comprising providing an oil-in-water emulsified spacer fluid comprising a binary surfactant mixture, solvent non-aqueous base fluid, and an aqueous base fluid, wherein the binary surfactant mixture comprises a surfactant and an amphiphilic co-surfactant, wherein the surfactant is present in an amount in the range of from about 0.5% to about 30% by weight of the oil-in-water emulsified spacer fluid and wherein the amphiphilic co-surfactant is present in an amount in the range of from about 0.5% to about 30% by weight of the oil-in-water emulsified spacer fluid, and introducing the oil-in-water emulsified spacer fluid into a subterranean formation comprising a residual non-aqueous fluid therein, wherein the binary surfactant mixture in the oil-in-water emulsified spacer fluid emulsifies at least a portion of the residual non-aqueous fluid.
