    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for CO 2 recovery and gasification capable of performing such an operation as to gasify raw material including carbon and simultaneously recover CO 2 , at the same pressure throughout the whole system. SOLUTION: The apparatus for CO 2 recovery and gasification comprises: a hydration column 1 in which Ca(OH) 2 is produced by the contact of CaO with water vapor; a gasification reactor 2 composed of a water removal part 2a which introduces Ca(OH) 2 and dehydrates the Ca(OH) 2 by heating to provide high active CaO, and a gasification part 2b which reacts raw material with water vapor to produce char, gasifies the char, causes CaO from the water removal part 2a to absorb CO 2 to produce CaCO 3 , gasifies the raw material by using the reaction heat and, further, makes gasified gas a heat source of dehydration in the water removal part 2a; and an absorbent regeneration column 3 which calcines CaCO 3 by combustion heat of the char in the presence of CaCO 3 containing the char introduced from the gasification part 2b, CO 2 , water vapor and oxygen, thereby, separates the CaCO 3 into CO 2 and CaO and supplies the obtained CaO to the hydration column 1, wherein the pressure in the gasification reactor 2 and absorbent regeneration column 3 is regulated to the same pressure as in the hydration column 1.
