Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a softening agent composition having high softening effects, improving feeling of clothes, and providing a product having good preservation stability in a wide temperature range of from a low temperature to a high temperature.
SOLUTION: The softening agent composition contains (a) a compound having a group selected from an amino group and/or a quaternary ammonium group, and an 8-42C hydrocarbon group in the molecule, and (b) a specific alkyl ether sulfate ester salt represented by general formula (1): RO-[(PO)

3 M, wherein the molar ratio of components (a) to (b) is (99/1)-(40/60).
