A mobile terminal and controlling method thereof are disclosed, which facilitates a terminal to be used in further consideration of user's convenience. The present invention includes externally receiving a request for a payment in a state of a locked screen of a display unit using short range communication, outputting a payment related information on the requested payment and a screen unlock means, and if the locked screen is unlocked via the screen unlock means, authorizing the requested payment. According to at least one of embodiments of the present invention, even if a display is turned off, a payment service can be available quickly and conveniently using NFC (near field communication) function.

A mobile terminal is disclosed to solve a problem of a control method of the related art for controlling an external device, which is not intuitive and inconvenient. The mobile terminal comprises a camera configured to receive a preview image including at least one external device; a display unit configured to display the preview image; and a controller operably coupled with the camera and the display unit, and configured to control the display unit to display a control menu for the external device included in the preview image, and generate a control signal corresponding to a user input signal for the control menu in response to the user input signal.

A mobile terminal and a method for controlling the mobile terminal are disclosed. The present invention includes a band wearable on a user's body, a display, and a controller configured to display, via the display, a clock area at a center of the display, cause to the display to move the clock area to an edge of the display corresponding to a first drag input when the first drag input is received on the clock area, and display, via the display, an notification icon at the center. According to an embodiment of the present invention, notification contents may be dynamically displayed according to user's interaction.

When a sound event generated outside has been sensed while a specific function is executed and the sound event satisfies a specific condition, an HMD according to the present invention may provide a notification therefor to a user. More specifically, the HMD comprises: a display unit formed to output screen information; an acoustic output unit for outputting acoustic information; a microphone for sensing the sound event generated outside of the HMD in a state in which the acoustic information is output; a user input unit for receiving an input of a control command for controlling the display unit and the acoustic output unit; and a control unit for controlling the display unit to output a graphic object notifying of the generation of the sound event when the sound event sensed through the microphone satisfies a pre-configured condition, and activating the user input unit in order to change an output state of at least one of the screen information and the acoustic information while the graphic object is output.
