This document relates to a wireless network where an access node may define association limitations to prefer some terminal devices over the other. A terminal device may determine the association limitations on the basis of a frame received from the access node and choose, on the basis of the received frame, whether or not to associate to the access node.

This document discloses a solution where power management of devices of a wireless networks are controlled in connection with an absence period. According to an aspect, an apparatus determines at least one allowable power management mode for at least a second apparatus; causes transmission of a first frame indicating the at least one allowable power management mode; and causes transmission of an indication of an absence period during which it is not possible to transfer frames with the apparatus, wherein the indication is provided in at least one of the first frame and a second frame. The first frame configures at least the second apparatus to be ready to communicate with the apparatus at the end of the absence period in a case where the at least one allowable power management mode indicates a first power management mode.
Abstract:
A system for conveying wireless information between an advertising device (advertiser) and another wireless communication device (receiving device). The advertiser's broadcast signal (advertisement) may inform the receiving device that information is available from the advertiser without the requirement of establishing a formal network connection. This information may be then be conveyed, by request, to the receiving device. Further, the advertising device may, in some instances, continue to broadcast to other receiving devices even though it is already engaged in a formal network connection with a receiving device.

Described herein are methods and apparatus for a communications system of radio coexistence on Television White Spaces band in which a radio coexistence enabler associated with a Television Band Device in a Television Band Device Network mastered by a radio coexistence enabler of a master type, sending a request as a client to a radio coexistence manager to receive information of at least one locally available radio resources, available device-to-device connections and nearby access networks from the coexistence manager to establish a connection based on the devices availability and which received information is without control of the coexistence enabler of a master type.

Abstract:
A method, apparatus, and computer program for monitoring messages transmitted in a wireless network are disclosed. On the basis of the monitoring, it is determined that a transmission rate of messages is not sufficient upon detecting no message within a minimum transmission time interval and, upon determining that the transmission rate of messages is not sufficient, an access point of the wireless network is caused to transmit a scanning message.
