    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a detector of battery capacity capable of discriminating always the residual capacity of battery by learning the consumption amount of battery from the accumulated value of load supply current. CONSTITUTION:A voltage V0 generated at the both ends of a resistor R is inputted to an A/D conversion circuit 1 and subjected to A/D conversion. The output of circuit 1 is inputted to an accumulating circuit 2, wherein the accumulation of successively inputted results from the A/D conversion is calculated. This is the accumulation of voltages generated by the currents flowing in the resistor R and can be regarded as the accumulation of currents accordingly. Therefore, the accumulation of currents flowing in a load from the battery, i.e., the consumption amount of battery capacity, can be obtained as the output of this circuit 2. The output of circuit 2 is inputted to a subtracting circuit 3. To another input of the circuit 3, an initial capacity of battery is being inputted from a control circuit 4 as a constant. Then, a calculation of (initial capacity of battery) - (accumulated consumption amount) is performed and the residual capacity of battery is outputted.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To widen a detection area and to eliminate graphic distortion by fixing a one-dimensional image sensor and an illuminating means so that they can satisfy total reflection conditions for the inner surface of glass and executing scanning while the conditions are kept as they are. CONSTITUTION:Transparent glass 11, for which its inner and outer surfaces are bent so that they can be a concentric cylinders, is made into a base on which a finger FNG is mounted, an illuminator 13 to uniformly illuminate a one-dimensional image sensor 12 equipped with an optical fiber lens 16 and an image pickup range for the image sensor 12 is provided, and the image sensor 12 and the illuminator 13 are fixed so that they can have a positional relation to satisfy the total reflection conditions in the inner surface of the bent transparent glass 11. Further, the image sensor 12 and the illuminator 13 are fixed on the same supporting base 15, this supporting base 15 is fixed to the rotary shaft of a pulse motor 14, and this rotary shaft of the pulse motor 14 is set identically to the center axis of the bent transparent glass 11. Thus, a fingerprint picture having the wide detection area and no graphic distortion can be obtained by detecting the fingerprint picture of the finger pressed on the surface of the bent glass surface 11.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To automatically enable a power source to be applied again even when hit is generated at the time of starting up an engine, etc., by generating a Vcc output ON signal which applies the power source at a supply power source monitoring part in terminal equipment for on-vehicle system. CONSTITUTION:A supply source voltage monitoring part 1 outputs the Vcc output ON signal 5 when a supply voltage VA exceeds a regulated voltage value. For example, in the case of supplying the supply voltage VA based on the battery of an automobile, Vcc output 6 is turned off because the supply voltage goes to zero volt while the source voltage VA is cut off in a state where the power source of the terminal equipment is applied by depressing a Vcc output ON switch 2. Next, when the supply voltage VA exceeds the regulated voltage value on the middle way to recover to an original voltage, the supply source voltage monitoring part 1 outputs the Vcc output ON signal 5, and a power source control part 4 turns on the Vcc output 6 by the Vcc output ON signal 5, then, automatically turns off the power source of the terminal equipment.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a fingerprint picture of good quality immediately when a finger is placed even in the case of a person who sweats little by placing a porous glass on a rectangular prism or a plate glass and supplying water thereon. CONSTITUTION:A rectangular prism 1 or the plate glass and a porous glass 2 placed on it with a slight space kept on it are provided and water 10 is supplied between the porous glass 2 and the rectangular prism 1 or the plate glass. In the parts of the ridges of a fingerprint where the skin is in contact with the porous glass 2, the water pools between the skin and the porous glass 2 whether the skin sweats or not and the fingerprint can be identified. Especially when the title device is composed so as to satisfy all reflection conditions, all the reflection conditions break in accordance with the fingerprint and the light of a lamp 4 reaches the skin of the finger and reflects irregularly. In the parts of the valleys of the fingerprint where the skin is not in contact with the porous glass 2, it reflects wholly. Consequently, a camera 5 detects the difference in the quantity of reflected light of the parts of ridges and the parts of the valleys of the fingerprint as the fingerprint picture and when a finger 9 is laid, the fingerprint picture of good quality can be obtained even in the case of a person who sweats little.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To detect a finger print picture over a wide range and to improve the detection accuracy by moving a set of a lighting means and a photodetecting means around an outer wall face of a transparent substance while mutual positional relation is kept unchanged. CONSTITUTION:In case of detecting a finger print picture, a finger tip being an object of detection is in contact with an inner face of a transparent substance 1 and a pulse motor 6 is driven in this state. Since the inner wall face of the transparent substance 1 is curved, a wide contact face is formed between it and the finger tip. In the contact state of the finger tip, a normal reflection takes place at a part where no skin is in contact and irregular reflection is caused to the part in contact with the skin. As a result, a line are pattern to a contrast in response to contactness/uncontactness if fetched by a main scanning of a line sensor 4. The mechanical subscanning attended with the drive of the pulse motor 6 is applied in parallel with the main scanning and two-dimensional pattern of contrast is detected as a finger print picture. Thus, the range of adoption of the finger print is expanded and the range of the main scanning by the photodetection means is decreased to a degree by which a trapezoidal wave distortion has no problem.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for an additional operation at every application of a power source by inputting the brightness of a fluorescent lamp at that time immediately after the start of each horizontal scan, and varying a gain for an output signal from a camera based on the brightness. CONSTITUTION:An output from the sensor 10 of the camera 1 is inputted to a gain variable amplifier 20, and its output is inputted to an A/D converter 21, then is quantized. Furthermore, the output of the A/D converter 21 is inputted to a data output gate 22 and a correction data generating part 23. The output of the correction data generating part 23 is inputted to a D/A converter 24, and is converted to an analog signal, and is inputted to the gain variable amplifier 20 as a gain control signal. To the correction data generating part 23, a correction data accumulation signal S1 is inputted at just this side of the document image pickup area of the sensor, and furthermore, a correction data output signal S2 is inputted during a time of the document image pickup area of the sensor.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain an output which is not affected by the change of light quantity of an illumination means by inputting lightness of a fluorescent lamp with fixed timing and varying a gain by said lightness against the output signal of a camera. CONSTITUTION:The signals equivalent to the light quantity of a fluorescent lamp 2 are quantized and inputted to a correction data generating part 6. The output of an A/D converter 5 obtained with input of a correction data storing signal S1 is stored in a register 61. The correction data is previously stored in a look-up table 62. The lightness of a new lamp 2 is set at 1; while the lightness of an old lamp 2 is set at 0.8 respectively. Then 1/0.8=1.25 is applied to the correction data. In other words, the output of a sensor 3 is set at V0 with the new lamp 2 and at V1 with a slightly dark lamp 2. Thus the value DAT stored in the address of an output V1 of the table 62 is calculated from V0/V1 and inputted to a gain variable amplifier 8 in the form of a gain control signal undergone D/A conversion. This control signal amplified in response to the lightness of the lamp 2 and outputted.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To attain the miniaturization and the cost reduction of a device by providing an illumination means which illuminates uniformly, and a control means which controls a switching between the timing of the conversion of a D/A conversion means, the read/write timing of an image accumulation means, and the selection signal of a video signal selection means. CONSTITUTION:A television camera 4 image-picks up a fingerprint on a sheet of fingerprint input paper 2, and inputs a video signal to an A/D converter 5 and a video selection circuit 8. A storage circuit 6 accumulates a quantized fingerprint image outputted from the A/D converter 5 according to the write timing and an address from a control circuit 10, and outputs the quantized fingerprint image to confirm the input quality of an accumulated image according to the read timing from the control circuit 10, then inputting to a D/A converter 7. A video signal selection circuit 8 selects and outputs the video signal in the inputting time of the fingerprint image, and in the confirming time of an input image, it is controlled with the control circuit 10 so as to select and output the video signal from the D/A converter 7. Thus, by using the television camera in stead of a one-dimensional image sensor, a mechanical carrying mechanism is made unnecessary, and the device can be miniaturized and its cost is reduced.
