    Abstract: A passenger conveyance passenger tracking control system that controls operation of a passenger conveyance, e.g., an elevator car, includes at least one call request device, e.g., a call request panel, configured to receive at least one input from at least one passenger located at a occupancy depth grid. At least one passenger position three-dimensional (3-D) depth-sensing sensor is configured to track a position of the at least one passenger located at the occupancy depth grid. The passenger conveyance passenger tracking control system further includes an electronic control module in signal communication with the at least one call request device and at least one passenger position 3-D depth-sensing sensor. The electronic control module is configured to control operation of the passenger conveyance based on the position of the at least one passenger.

    Abstract: An elevator system may include an elevator car having an electrically powered car subsystem and a guide rail constructed and arranged to guide the elevator car along a hoistway and in a direction of travel. Primary windings of the system are positioned along the hoistway, and a permanent magnet assembly is coupled to the elevator car. Together, the primary windings and the permanent magnet assembly define a linear motor for imparting motion to the elevator car in response to a drive signal. A secondary winding assembly of the elevator system is coupled to the elevator car and is located adjacent to the permanent magnet assembly along the direction of travel. In operation, the secondary winding assembly generates a current to power the car subsystem.

An electronic processor of the elevator system is configured to selectively control power delivered to the first propulsion system (40). The electronic processor includes a software-based power estimator configured to receive a first weight signal and a nm trajectory signal for calculating a power estimate and comparing the power estimate to a maximum power allowance.
